Hey guys . I've just bought a 9600GT to use as a PhysX card along with the two GTX260's I already had. My problem is I don't seem to be able to have the 260's overclocked without overclocking the 9600GT. I want to set the 260's to 700/1400/1200, but that underclocks the shaders and overclocks the memory (beyond what they're capable of) on the GT. I've contacted NVidia about it and they said they couldn't help me as it would cause liability problems regarding the overclocking, which is fair enough. They suggested using RivaTuner but I'm not a 'power user' so I don't know how to do it, or even if it is possible. Any help here would be very appreciated.
You need to flash the card(s). I had to do the same with my SLI setup back in the day, because back then the O/C would only take on the primary card. Read up on it quite a bit first because a bad flash could leave you with a dead card.
think having the Physx xard is a bit overkill, you`re not going to notice any difference, as you cards can handle the physx without reall affecting their own performance.....
Good suggestion Rubysoul, cheers. I did flash the 8800GT's I used to have. Hopefully the 260's won't be much different to do. @Li4m79; it has actually increased performance in Mirrors Edge. Adding the GT for PhysX increased performance by about 20% and made the overall experience a fair bit smoother .
Really...ok, then i take back my words!!...but you should reallyn have no smoothness issues with 2x 260`s in mirrors edge....i hit a pretty high framerate in mirrors edge just on my 9800....... i`ve got an 86oo sitting doing nothing, maybe i`ll try it....
What ?!? I'm Running Mirror Edge maxed @ 1920x1200 @ 8xAA on my Asus EN 8800 Ultra. My guess is that it's making the same amount of FPS as Duke3d (d3d hack), Postal or Quake 3 Arena .... My guess is you're cards are making that `*high pitched whining`noise while playing the game *(When the FPS go insanely high) Makes me wonder what score you are getting in the PhysX FluidMark
