Hey guys here are my specs

    Gigabyte EP45-ud3r
    Intel E8400
    OCZ Reaper 1066mhz DDR2 4gb
    Arctic Freezer Pro CPU Fan

I'm having a dilemma here...from what I have read, the E8400 should get into the 4.2ghz+ range easily on air cooling....but I am having trouble staying stable in the 3.8ghz range...if I could get some tips I would greatly appreciate it...my mobo settings are the following

    - Turned off all the BS settings (power saving, serial ports, LAN, etc etc)
    - Vcore 1.31, VDIMM 2.1, Northbridge 1.3, everything else, normal
    - 445x9 multiplier
    - 333 MCH strap and 2.40B memory multiplier...it brings me to 1068MHZ

Any tips here? I am particularly confused about the MCH strapping...it gives me 200,266,333,400 to choose from and a couple different memory multipliers for each one...am I suppose to be shooting for 400 strap and select the multipliers from there? It only gives me 2.00 and 2.66....and 2.66 is obviously too high for my RAM especially at 445FSB

Set 500x8 mem 1:1. Vcore as needed. Rest I set auto. Working great in my rig even 500x9 as you can see on the left.

Have you reduced the CPU multiplier and tested your mempry and board separately for stability? If not, you must do so before you can begin to understand what is holding you back. It's not all about the CPU.

set y mem volt at 2.2..my reaper 4 g need 2.2...and your mem can handle 1100-1150 mhz easy..but 1.1 mem divider i don't no.. m'n is acording to cpu-z 3.4 at 5-5-5-15-26-2t.and havent overclock it...

sp5it can you do a screenshot from cpu-z, i like to try the same here.. the cpu and a memory tab screenshot please..thanks

ferdy you are correct....it does say on the ram sticker to run 2.2 for the ram....i always thought it was 2.1 becuz of the box...but i guess upon reading newegg reviews, they changed it to 2.2 later on

what do you guys think about cpu termination and cpu pll and cpu reference voltage? i left it all on normal
