The first thing I do to my drivers now is remove this... Its great they release it on its own but to combine it with the drivers is stupid.

I like to install from behind.

But assuming any of you guys are being serious, I can understand installing on top working just as well as a clean install, but how could could it be better?

not every1 is a guru3d forum user, neither follows nvidia new features each second and even download or understand em ;), so let physx spread around so maybe more games use it xP.

It's just updating the necessary files, and therefore a clean installation is needless and more time consuming, in this case. Besides that it even says in the changelog that it's recommended to have an older version (version 8.09.04) already installed prior to installing this version:

Nvidia started to include the PhysX package/installer with their graphic card drivers a while ago. Since every time you install new GPU drivers it automatically installs the PhysX software as well, it can be a bit annoying. Especially, if you're not using PhysX.

There is even a problem associated with this bundle/combination, since sometimes the graphic card driver won't install because of a problem with the PhysX installation directly following it. Therefore quite a few people made it a habit of decompressing the downloaded driver with a tool like 7-Zip, removing the PhysX installer from the decompressed driver folder, and only then installing the new GPU driver...

Well, unless you have a 2400 baud modem and live in a cave, then I don't think that an extra 35 mb is going to really make a big difference. Who gives a rat's ass.

The 181.22 WHQL install had updated my PhysX to 909.00.10
I just installed the 909.01.21 PhyX on top of the 909.00.10 and it updated without a problem.
