For gamiing i recommand not 5.1 or 7.1 but a stereo headphone with better sound imaging. Most people tend to go for the AD700 for gaming because of its wide sound stage. It also what I had at one point and they did great for gaming. I dont know how much they cost in your area tho.

If he wants to game then he wants a soundcard that does sound processing on the soundcard and not the cpu so you leaves you with the xfi chips. The xfi-prelude is probably best in this respect.

I think best sound when I hear best sound card, not best frame rate. In concept it's similar to playing with AA versus playing without it, sure it's faster but is it better? Granted I use neither card, and I'd love to own either, just tossing my 2c in.

However, one bit of advice I'll stand on: Find out what these cards are doing in windows 7 before buying.

The xfi-prelude is the best? And what headphones I need? 7.1 or streao, 7.1 is better isnt it??

Seems like Creative cards are way so pupolar! I cant even find this card in my country! But Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Fata1ty Pro is good?? And it is X-Fi Fatality Titanium just a diffrent name? or a diffrent card?

    Soo X-Fi Fatality Titanium/pro
    or Xfi prelude ???

Creative Labs XFi Extreme Gamer. The best on the market and Creative has been around the longest and is used by all game developers , as the soundcard standard.

I use the Asus Xonar D1 and it's simply awesome sounding, and the price can't be beat.
Oh, and the drivers work for Windows 7 too ;)

The Fatality Pro is what I have, it uses PCI for connection. The Fatality Titanium uses PCI-Express 1x for its connection. It really just depends on which you would prefer to use. I'd rather have had it on a PCI-E connection myself, but the Titanium didn't come out for over a year after I got my card so it wasn't an option at the time.

That said, having read the reviews on the accuracy and cleanness of the Xonar D2X I'd love to make the switch to it, especially after dealing with Creative's shoddy drivers for years now, though they have improved over time it is just very slow improvement.
