i find this odd... if i boot into windows 7 i get a steady 800-900 iter/sec in the display

if i boot into xp64 and open the display it slows down from 800ish down to 0 in a few seconds, and then all progress stops and it stops displaying iter/sec all together....

    weird?

@ all NVIDIA users: What clocks do u run your f@h client at? What's more important: ROP-, Shader- or Memory clocks?

Higher shader clocks means the card will process work units quicker.

I wonder if the PS3's quick folding is due to system capabilities or the fact that it doesnt have the same restrictions of an x86 box.

Considering that todays PC's are MUCH faster than a PS3 (as we all know, game systems aren't exactly top of the line products), I wonder how folding would be with a bootable F@H client, lol. Of course it would not be feasable for them to create due to the need to drive the underlying subsystems (which is why an OS is nice), but I'm sure that it would be interesting.

Of course, the biggest problem with my stupid idea is that PC's vary greatly in hardware from one to the next. Too bad we can't have an OS some day that doesn't run 400 things in the background...

I'm new to F@H but, I am so glad that there has finally become a productive use for a game system! :)

well...i don't use the cpu one as im usually decoding or something so i need my cpu but i mean if i do ever use my cpu on folding i probs set it to use like 20% so it does not slow my system down to much.

So what about changing the viewer to show iter/s instead of ns/d? How can you do that?

    My first post @ guru3d

    Once I have my Q8200/eVGA9600GT built, I'll use my AMD Winchester 64 3500+ 939skt with Nvidia 7950GT OC'd, 43-celcius max load. This stuff on a k8m890m2-v.
I have many types of OS's to use, can this be used on DSLinux? I ask because I've not seen an installer here!
Otherwise, anyone have any issues using this prog on any TinyXp Revs?
Or should I just use a fully broken Rev of XP?

    Joined the fight again!

To all Ati 2xxx/3xxx/4xxx users. Catalyst 9.1 increases F@H speed DRAMATICALLY. some are getting 5000k/6000k. Multi-GPU's are supported.

You will have to follow these steps in order to achieve this. It is not very hard. Check the link in this post.

    Have fun Folding!

    Just joined the Guru team.

I already have some folding experience. 3 million points for another team.

I have in total 8 folding rigs. 11 GPU Clients and 2 SMP Clients.

Will gradually transfer the rigs to Guru3d.

    Cheers ;)
