    Hi all,
    I have a big (for me) problem with 181.00 181.20 181.22 182.05
I cannot go anymore in standby mode because I get this error
[IMG]Google translated= the device driver "Default Screen" is preventing the machine from entering standby. Close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update the driver.

When I deinstall default monitor (s) I get a similar error
    [IMG]

With 180 series an older I got in device manager only my Plug'n'play monitor+ a single "default monitor"; with 181 series I have my plug'n'play monitor+ 3 default monitor(s) !!

    I also have gone in the registry, found the stringS and removed them, but everytime I reboot, the system reinstall the 3 default monitors;
I have also tried to disable "plug and play " service but it causes the pc to be almost blocked..

I think that is the driver that tries to access the monitors always and doesn't let me go in standby..
I have a notebook with only my laptop monitor, nothing else

Can anyone on this great forum help me?

Yes, 185.20 works with standby but it's very unstable for me..have you found any information?

Only that other people have the same (or similar) problems with those drivers and the standby mode. Using other drivers seems to be the only possible solution for the problem right now...

But the problem very spread that I found is that people can't wake up from standby,
not the problem that I have:I cannot go in standby..

Still, it's related. You said yourself that a different driver version solves the problem. This means that you either have to go back to an older driver version or try the 185.20 and live with it's Alpha status or wait for a new driver version and don't use the standby mode until then...

creating a custom monitor driver didn't resolve the problem!

the problem is in nv4_mini.sys because
changing all nvidia exe and dlls in windows\system32\ with latest one overwriting on 180.84 (latest working version) leave it going on standby!
in this way the "core" of the driver is still 180.84 but any other thing is 182.05..

Anyone could help in finding where is the problem in nv4_mini.sys??
