What would I need to have 350W, 450W or even 550W power consumption with full load? Not that I'll do it, I just want to know and understand a little better...

Anyway, I guess I'm going for the Corsair VX550, now I just have to gather some money and look for the cheapest place to buy it :)

Thank you all for your help.

I'm not sure I understand the question...lessee your individual 12V peak loads fo the Athlon X2 4850e is ~3A and a 9800GTX+ is ~10A and add an amp for each drive and an amp for every three fans and we are probably talking about only a 16A draw IF you stress the CPU and the GPU and all the drives at once which games don't do. But anyway 12V@16A=192W and your 3.3V and 5V loads average 40-50W so yeah mid 250's peak load. PSU's will last longer, run cooler/quieter and be more energy efficient when the load is kept under about 75% capacity so something 350 watts minimum.

oh you mean what kind of setup draws those loads? higher draw overclocked CPU and multiple higher draw GPU's and peltier cooling are the big loads...

Don't know how accurate it is, but this might give you some reference. I would always add another 10% of margin on top of whatever they tell you just to give you some head room and security for future upgrades.

This is confusing me... That site says I need like 500/550W of power and I didn't even selected all the peripherals I'm using. All this with the GeForce 9800 selected, but if I remove it, it drops to 300W.

Will the Corsair VX-550 be enough?

On that last one, it gave me about 270W.
