The preview driver for Win7 is the original 8.12hotfix driver.

Crysis works fine with my old 8800gts, then decided to get 4870x2 and bunch of problems black screen, freezing and audio goes out when only playing fullscreen. I tried crysis warhead and same thing but in window mode it plays. I try to play 1920x1080 full screen audio goes out. :bang::bang:

i don't think thats isolated to the win7 drivers is it?

i don't have any issues with crysis or warhead in vista 64, so i'm guessing the win7 probs have something to do with the changes microsoft have made or the beta drivers (haven't tried any others yet in this x64 install)
haven't had any problems with audio tho

Should be, I did afterall get 212fps in the Orange Box Stress Test maxed out at 1680x1050, only 10fps lower than Vista, but its so high as it is I can't see myself losing any sleep over it. :p

My only problem so far is the constant flickering in GTA4, but that was with the Vista 8.12s, with the Windows 7 hotfix I get the flickering AND stuttering issues.

Well it isnt bad for beta drivers on a beta OS, but they do need a lot of work. It's a shame too because I'd rather use Windows 7 than Vista.

You can use the normal Catalyst 8.12's for Vista in Win7. You'll "lose" a few perks of WDDM v1.1, but that's only important for the Windows 7 UI (Aero) which will revert to Vista-style rendering (shouldn't notice any visual differences).

Yeh I gave them a try before going back to Vista, GTA4 no longer had the stuttering issue but was still having flickering lights and shadows, none of which happens in vista for me.

    So far so good.
Win7 appears more responsive than Vista and so far BF2+COD4 are running at similiar framerates.
For a beta OS + beta drivers I'm very impressed.

There's not a more recent version right? In the CCC Control Panel, it says that the drivers are 8.11.

I can't enable "mirrored mode" with these drivers. Windows 7's own resolution screen gives error of some sort when trying to enable it and can't do it via cccp either because of missing "displays manager". I can't do this either by using vista drivers because cccp ain't working then at all.

I use this mode when playing while I have friends visiting me so I can show them my progress via tv screen so this feature is crucial for me. Any tips in enabling this?

    ATI Radeon HD4850 here.

I'm also running the "supposedly" 8.12 Preiview driver for Win 7 but it shows me the same exact information about them...says it's 8.11 and I everytime i run the windows update it offers me the pre-release ATi driver which is a newer version dated 10-12-2008 (if I'm not mistaken).
Can anyoneshed some light over this? should i keep the 8.11's or should i just update to the windows update one?

    Thx in advance!

I'm running W7 64bit right now and I have big driverproblems.
8.12 Vista -> Worked fine but ofc I wanted the newer ones
8.12 Vista HOTFIX -> Freezes on install
W7 Preivew driver -> Freezes on install
... No driver? Well better 8.12 vanilla than nothing right?
8.12 Vista again -> Freezes on install
8.10 Vista COME ON -> Freezes on install

Yay... this ontop of the 8.12 Crashing my XP 64 install also.
    All get stuck like this:

I've tried starting in non signed driver check also. =/
