Thought I would try my luck with a dual monitor setup.

Is there a preferred NVidia driver for this?
One that maybe people have had better luck with?

    THANKS!!!

    Thanks friend...
The new drivers looked good, just didn't know if there were any older or modded drivers that dual monitor users had better luck with.

    I will try these tonight...
    Thanks again!

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong... but I can't get the third monitor to come up. I made sure I got a second video card of the same brand (a nvidia 6800 to go with my 8800). I was kind of hoping it would automatically see the second card and install it. It will keep saying that a new video controller has been found, but I'm unable to install a driver for it. I've tried manually installing the driver but it will only see my first two monitors... and tried letting the wizard install, but it says the driver that I am trying to direct it to is incorrect and will not finish. Am I just missing something???.

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks in advance...

Did you have both cards in on the time of the driver installation? try reinstalling them again.

Yes... they were both in at the time I installed the driver, Even tried it twice thinking I missed something. It just doesn't see that card.

180.48 whql only supports 8800 and up, according to "product supported" tab on the driver page.

I'd suggest trying a later beta driver (180.84/181.00) as these support 6 series and up.
or maybe even using a modified .inf for the 180.48 ?

What are you trying to accomplish here, Samuri?

In your first post you say that you want to run a "dual monitor setup". That's pretty straight forward, as you only need one GPU with two display ports. Something like this:

In case you want to run a triple display setup, have a look at this:

    Matrox TripleHead2Go
    http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/

In case you want to run a dual display setup with SLI, you need Vista and a 18x.xx driver...

Sorry about that, a bad bit communicating on my part.
Yes, I wanted a dual display, had real good success with it, was able to get another monitor, and thought I would try my luck for a three monitor setup. And then I forgot to mention this information between my first post and my last post. I know you are trying to help me, and this little bit of information (ok, BIG bit of information), was very much needed to assist my properly. I do apologize for this.... And thank you for bringing this to my attention.

But moving on... on to setting up a second video card for a three monitor setup, changing the drivers worked.

    Thanks again for the assistance!!
I can't tell you how long I worked on this last night.

And sorry again for the confusion and leading you into the wrong direction!!! But thanks for the link. Is very much appreciated!

    :D

No need to apologize at all, Samuri. I just couldn't figure out what you want. Dual display support? Triple display support? One GPU? Two GPUs?

I'm glad you got it working in the end. That's all that matters.

Yea... but it would help if I stated where I was at before asking how to get there...
    Thanks again for the assistance!
