Ehmmm..... every time when i load my game my cars that i've parked in the parking spot near my safe house disappeared. Where can i stall my cars so that they won't vanish upon next reload? It happens with everything. The game just won't save my ^$%&%^ cars! :bang:

 

THANX ALLOT for the tip. I get +10 FPS now.Game is MUCH more playable. And why did stupid R* add this stupid feature??

 

any idea where the savegames are stored?! i searched in Gta4 directory, my documents Rockstar and even under C:\Documents and Settings\YeaR\Application Data

but there's no Rockstar directory there?! :3eyes:

next time you restart the game it's going to be ON again, at least that's what happens to me, i didnt notice any difference with it on or off though, so if you close the game and restart it, go back to GAME option and check that the recording feature is actually OFF.

Sorry dude, was (and still is) pissed off at my save game.

**** the one that got corrupted is the one which has a days worth of progress on it!!!

I really dont feel like doing all those missions ova...

fraid i'm not sure where they'll be in XP, but in Vista they are in:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\

[edit] have you tried in
C:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\

make sure you have hidden fiiles & folders disabled/unchecked

 

I got another gig of ram, which has made things much smoother even though the fps is still pretty low.

Odd thing is, it doesn't matter if i choose 1680x1050 everything maxed out or 1280x1024 everything medium i still get 20-30fps outside never higher. The settings make like 1-2 fps difference.
I'm using the -novblank option to disable vsync and the clip capture is disabled.

I don't understand whats holding me back now. Have seen on the gtaforums people with similar setups to mine averaging 40fps outside with a mix of medium/high settings.

Does the game run much better in 64bit or something? Im using 32bit vista.

Just have to wait for the patch I guess.

 

Is this thing even supposed to work with 2008 Server ?

 

Is there anyway i can get textures to at least high im annoyed it only goes to medium cos of the silly video card ram thing please help!!

Sorry bud no idea.

However there is a way to disable the video ram limitations settings or something.

Still need HELP on that savegame, it doesnt have to be exactly where I am, last save I had was baby sitting (doesnt riun spoilers like this).

 

yay that was it, had to remove the hidden files/folders thing, it was under Documents And Settings indeed.

btw i asked because i wanted to back it up in case something happens and it gets corrupted or something, i usually do this with all my games (i 7-Zip them)

 

create a commandline.txt in your gta folder and type

-norestrictions -nomemrestrict

its done, for more commands, readme.txt


dont worry at doubling your vram capacity.... its nerd, actually the game uses like 30% of a GPU, doubling the memory will use 60% xD.

 

yeah, also let me add that if you bought the game via Steam you MUST create and log to Social Club otherwise the command lines will be totally ignored.

what you do is start GTAIV Social Club thingy, then create a social club account (free), then when prompted Log In, once you logged in DO NOT PRESS "PLAY", but actually create a shortcut with the command lines you want and run it, that's when everything should work fine.

the boxed retail version don't need those steps, no idea why.

 

Game looks horrible... Its just SO DAMN horrible to eyes xD
800x600 no AA / AF and ****ty settings 41FPS in benchmark.

19-45 fps in game but mostly "near 30".(What i notised)

Downloaded with torrent and now im gonna uninstall the whole ****. I will buy it when its ready =)
