Worth the upgrade HD 4870 512MB to 1GB - £30???

    I never heard anything bad about Palit, tho warranty is short only 1 year... (it shouldn't be an issue if you don't abuse the hardware)

    There are instances where the 1 gig card will be 60-80% faster than the 512, but that's mainly at 1920x1200+max aa/af.
    Being that Quake4 wanted 512mb in 2005, I always felt it odd that people still consider 512mb acceptable in late 2008.

    Can you buy that in the US? I haven't found it anywhere. It seems that Asus has a Dark Knight version of the card that has a similar cooling setup, Sapphire as well.

    I would say it's worth it because of your resolution, but it's borderline.

    well, the benefits of high memory capacity (512 or more) it could handles more texture and more pixel..

    Palit is actually Gainward, and they are well known within the Nvidia camp as making great cards. Their golden sample versions are always highly regarded as some of the best overclockers. hope this helps :banana:
