For a while now I have been using vista 64 with aero on and have been experiencing slow/lagging scrolling in browsers like firefox, ie, etc. I recently upgraded my machine to a core i7 hoping that would fix it, still not satisfactory. I am running a GTX 260, 6 gig of ram everything runs very fast except for scrolling. When I turn off aero that works fine but then I have choppy brushes in photoshop. But if I turn it back on scrolling is smooth!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!? why cant it be smooth when my computer boots up
BTW this happens on 2 of my machines. Anyone heard of/experiencing this problem? I am on a clean install of vista with the 180.48 drivers -glue

This is usually a GFX driver issue, can you double check and make sure your GFX is using the 180.48 driver? Control Panel>Dev Manager>Display Adapters & make sure it doesn't say standard vga adapter.

I am having exactly the same problem on Vista32. Only difference is that when I boot into windows it's fine - the lagging just suddenly appears after a few hours. Switching to vista basic mode and back to aero also fixes the problem. I'm running Forceware 180.43, but it also happened on previous versions of Forceware as well.

yeah I got same problems as well. Also when Iam typing into Firefox I get a lag with the keyboard input and the letters appearing on the screen.
Only in Firefox, dunno about IE. Iam too bored to fire that **** up.

Maybe Firefox and Vista don't mix.
And yeah I got the latest drivers.

Interestingly I've got the exact same problem... and the same hardware config. Altough it doesn't get smooth at all, even when changing from aero to classic and back again :(

I use the Xtreme-G 182.06 drivers.I didn't want to mention them because they were banned here,I think.
I can't gurantee it will work.I played with the nvcp settings too.
