These are the best drivers so far for me. Warhead Min + 2fps, Avg +2.5fps, Max +.5fps from 180.48. Far Cry 2 went up as well.

Far Cry 2 all settings on Ultra or very high when ultra not available. 1900/1200 16XAF no AA, 3 run loop average.

    180.48
    Min 21.50
    Avg 35.49
    Max 71.25

    180.60
    Min 24.33
    Avg 37.73
    Max 71.42

180.70's were terrible on my PC. Crysis bench would not work properly all the time and Far Cry 2 fps were 5 lower for avg and only 55fps Max.

Will stick with these for now

Did a major test on CoD:WW with this set, compared to the .48 yes there is IQ improvement for sure, they seem to run very smooth for me.

.60 is just slightly better than .70 on Crysis Warhead for me so I guess there's no point in sticking with an older driver for now. :pc1:

openGl extensions have increased from 161 to 170 with this driver(previous 178.24) .... nvidia control panel has an option for setting physx confguration ... no update for nfs undercover ( not in the list ) ..

What does this CUDA do for the drivers? Can you install the CUDA with drivers prior to these?

How does CUDA help and who should install it?

Pretty amazing what you can find by typing the subject in Google search. ;)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CUDA

"CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) is a compiler and set of development tools that enable programmers to use a variation of C based on the PathScale C compiler,[1] to code algorithms for execution on the graphics processing unit (GPU). CUDA has been developed by NVIDIA and to use this architecture requires an Nvidia GPU and drivers. The latest drivers all contain the necessary CUDA components. CUDA works with all NVIDIA GPUs from the G8X series onwards, including GeForce, Quadro and the Tesla line. NVIDIA states that programs developed for the GeForce 8 series will also work without modification on all future Nvidia video cards, due to binary compatibility. CUDA gives developers access to the native instruction set and memory of the massively parallel computational elements in CUDA GPUs. Using CUDA, the latest NVIDIA GPUs effectively become open architectures like CPUs (Central Processing Units). Unlike CPUs however, GPUs have a parallel "many-core" architecture, each core capable of running thousands of threads simultaneously - if an application is suited to this kind of an architecture, the GPU can offer large performance benefits."

uuh.... instead of quoting Wikipedia and such.... why not just explain it quickly and simply?

Breathless: CUDA is what allows NVidia's latest GPU's (8-series and up) to function as more than just a graphics processor. They can also be used to process physics calculations in games that support it (which we're all probably hoping will eventually be every game that supported Ageia's PhysX system), and can also act as a CPU and be used for stuff like folding. Some other applications are also starting to use the Cuda architecture. One heavily notable one is Photoshop, where Photoshop CS4 actually uses the GPU to make zooming, panning, rotating, and other functions occur much faster, and much smoother. rather than having the typical click to zoom and have it snap to that zoom level, it gradually, and smoothly, zooms in as you hold the mouse button.

You can't get much more simple than typing CUDA into Google.

    Goodness gracious....

Of course I could type "CUDA" into google. What I was asking is what is this particular download:

    CUDA XP/Vista 32-Bit:
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/thankyo...35-3046817.exe

    CUDA XP/Vista 64-Bit:
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/thankyo...35-3046817.exe

what is the difference between that, and this:

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_8.10.13_whql.html

and why is it necessary (or what does it help).

Aren't we using cuda by installing the physx drivers along with our drivers (or seperately)? If so, what is this "other one"?

am I not making sense? This seems like an easy question.
