Problem is Ive been playing it for 4 hours with 0 bullets and 10% health with a sledghammer fighting supermutants and quickloading every minute while looking for freakin Megaton lol (not fun!)

Anyway I finally found it, time to get some decent guns'n'ammo etc...
Would have been nice if the game pointed you in the right direction from the start.

Seems stable now after configing ffdshow. Fingers crossed.

i concur, don't worry yourself about megaton. Just play and enjoy. There are so many side quests i've left the main quest till last!

I want to complete every nook and cranny of this game :)

I was told to go to the Megaton city, so I went towards the buildings in the distance. Somehow I ended up in DC. no one told me to follow the road lol

There should be an arrow on the compass pointing to the next main quest

If you have VATS slowdowns, try to lower your AA. Setting it from 4x to 2x cleared my fps drops.

Yes there is a big green arrow in the bottom left corner that points to where your current quest location is. Um if you tried to get to DC at low level, good luck with that lol. Read the damn book and learn how to play as it seems you have not played a game in a while.

Yeah the large metropolitan area is downtown Washington, D.C.

Megaton is a smaller town very close to Vault 101 where you started the game. As you walk out of the vault there are huge makeshift signs pointing to Megaton.

Also the large green arrow on your compass (bottom left of the screen) points towards the quest objective that you have selected in your PipBoy.

DUDE you are having the same problem as it did, and you are correct in thinking your drivers are causing it, i tried everything else then reverted to the 178.42 drivers and shazaaaam i ballin all over megaton (lol). So yeah just revert your drivers.

    Awesome thanks I'll try that.

ps. I dont see a green arrow in the compass... I can see red lines indicating nearby enemies, and I can see triangles. Not once did I see a filled-in green arrow. Maybe it was a bug or driver problem.

The 180.43 drivers gave me very poor performance in Fallout 3. Steer clear of them!

I have had no issues with the 180.43s. Sorry for your guys/gals having issues. The game is really awesome, hope things get working for you.
