Seeing that we both don't have drivers source codes but we can just confront files you can't have proof of it in any way.

    - We (me and you) don't have source codes (of any driver), so
    - we both can't prove our point of views.
    - At most we can confront files (file size, version, etc.), but
    - this can't conclude on anything.

I'm not trying to nitpick but the word you should be using is examine or compare

Sorry for the english lesson, I'm just trying to help.

    @Punisher

Cyberbeing is totally right... and you are wrong mate.
There are different driver teams for the different market approaches, served by nVidia.

Mainly these are development, professional workstations (thinking of medicine, military and so on) and of course consumer graphics (you may differ embedded systems, mobile solutions and descrete grafics).

There are various teams and for sure they use development systems for controlling source codes, managing differend branches (as being mentioned by cyberbeing) like in every complex software development. And there are different methods of quality service for the different market lines... of course.

The microsoft WHQL certification is nothing... listen NOTHING against the certification for serveral professional applications, which is urgend for releasing quadro drivers.

But hey... you obviously don't know anything about this, but got your own point of view.
This is OK, but don't tell others what to think... thanks.

    Razor

P.S.: and sorry for my bad english... this is not my natural tonge ;)

lol im using them as we speak, modded ones from F_L_C and can't complain about them.
I tested Cod4, Fear combat, DMC4 bench, ut3, Grid, Crysis warhead... and they all felt very smooth and fast (lol well except crysis but still mostly around 30s shader-gamer; postproces-enthusiast > to see sun rays ^^ lol). They're the best so far compared to (175.19; 177.83/92; 178.15/24; 179.13), no complains and i've used quadro some time back 160.59 i think and yea they ownd lol, so do these now.

Mate, it is totally no-sense, economically speaking, to have two teams for developing drivers for identical architecture based products and mate, if you haven't noticed, NVIDIA is a Nasdaq listed company.

It is not a case, in fact, that NVIDIA Quadro's drivers, with just a little change in version, have been released just few hours after the others.

Do you like thinking that with Quadro drivers you will have a better IQ? Well, just install them, but you can't pretend this is reality.

I'm not having any luck with getting a stable driver lately so i'd like to give these a try.

Will they work in SLI or even have the option for SLI? I don't know much about the Quadro cards so not sure if they run dual cards.

EDIT: OK, my lazy ass just found out the info i need about Quadro cards on google. I'm gonna try these drivers.

Besides posting in the wrong thread (this one is about the 178.26 driver), you can get the 180.42 driver working with your 7800GTX, by doing the following:

Download both the driver (180.42) and the modded inf for your OS version (XP/Vista, 32-Bit/64-Bit) from here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=120

    Now do the following:
    1. Uninstall your current driver.
    2. Restart and boot into safe mode (F8).
    3. Run Driver Sweeper and maybe even CCleaner.
    4. Restart and boot to the regular desktop.
    5. Decompress the downloaded driver and copy the modded inf into that folder.
    6. Run the setup.exe you can find in that folder.
    7. Restart.
