    Fan control is working fine for me, low-level through RivaTuner set to 100% 24/7. Vista 64

    Does anyone of you guys have this same issue as before that I can't overclock my card after installing these drivers. 180.42 worked fine with my latest RivaTuner but now the overclocking is disabled and no matter how many times I try to reboot or just click 'detect now' it the result is disabled.

    Any suggestions how could I fix this?

    Card overclocked on RivaTuner 2.11 here. No problems.

    My results:

    3DMark05 (180.42) 19154 3DMarks

    3DMark05 (180.43) 19455 3DMarks

    3DMark06 (180.42) 14107 3DMarks

    3DMark06 (180.43) 14052 3DMarks

    3DMark Vantage (180.42) P7478

    3DMark Vantage (180.43) P7511

    Crysis Warhead (178.15)
    DirectX 9.0c GAMER 3X @ Map: ambush @ 0 1280 x 800 AA 4xx
    Framerate [ Min: 19.59 Max: 46.66 Avg: 31.47 ]

    Crysis Warhead (180.43)
    DirectX 9.0c GAMER 3X @ Map: ambush @ 0 1280 x 800 AA 4xx
    Framerate [ Min: 19.50 Max: 45.96 Avg: 31.38 ]

    Since Crysis Warhead performance is my main concern, I must say I am really disappointed at "Big Bang"... Sigh. :biggun:

    I am keeping 180.43. It solved bugs I was having (black screen when changing resolution etc) in FarCry 2 with 180.42. :3eyes:

    the .42 drivers made shadows flicker on some maps in Grid and seems that the .43 fixed it... no increase in performance (may be just me but there is a slight IQ improvement)

    Clear sky seems a bit more responsive :rock:
    Warhead performance dropped by a few FPS's :chainsaw:

    I am going to check 182.43. 42... gave me too many issues.

    * Min. Framerate: 23,33 (Frame:775, 21,52s)

    182.43 isn't better for me. The same in game settings.

    182.43, after turning off A.I.:

    * Total Frames: 1810, Total Time: 51,02s
    * Average Framerate: 35,48
    * Max. Framerate: 52,87 (Frame:282, 6,54s)

    * Average Framerate: 40,16
    * Max. Framerate: 69,26 (Frame:893, 16,63s)

    E8400 @ 4.05 GHz 1.25v
    Mem @ 900 MHz CL5-5-5-12

    Looks like DX10 Path is a lot faster than DX9... My scores are fairly low... WTF?

    Same settings as Guru3D article about FC2 VGA performance:

    * Average Framerate: 37,44
    * Max. Framerate: 52,28
    * Min. Framerate: 29,58

    DX 9 Path @ WinXP...

    Looks like DX10 rendering path is clearly FASTER!

    Well i've played many games and tried Vantage and i can tell you that this set and the .42 are as good as the 178.XX series (if not better).

    IQ is about the same and no significant FPS loss so its a keepers here.

    The only thing is the fan control but you can set it in Rivatuner (low level) and i'm pretty sure that eVGA is gonna release a new version of their Precision tool really soon.

    + Can change GPU clocks *anytime*, the card won't get stuck in 3D Perf mode (GTX260).

    + 6% increase in 3DMark Vantage GPU points ! (10,000 -> 10,600)

    + Frontlines finally plays without fps drops, now it's 63-64fps with 60fps lock :D with 4xAA

    + I've got a old game that shows 5-30% cpu usage with dual core cpu (90-150fps), but with 180.43, cpu usage is more normal and +50% fps boost there :D

    - Games terminate randomly...FC2, Vegas. 3DM Vantage has shown some window size or fullscreen error, it also needs to be re-installed/repaired coz of a "missing physxloader.dll", and it also can stop at the 2nd CPU test. In NVCPL, monitor scaling is grayed out, stuck at monitor's built-in scaling.

    - AA, AF etc forced in previous forceware drivers, are still in use.

    - Still can't use AA properly in R6 Vegas: Bordertown, Doscala, Library Terr Hunt maps unplayable in some areas.

    - Can't force AA to UT3, jaggies still visible

    Don't un-install PhysX before un-installing old forceware driver...I did, and PhysX wasn't installed at all with 180.xx driver. What it does is updating files, so current physx is needed. Work-around was to install 8.09.x and again installing the 180 driver.

    EDIT ///

    3DMark Vantage, High Preset:

    H8298 (180.43)
    GPU: 7311
    CPU: 35331
    E8400 @ 3942MHz
    GTX260 @ 756/1512/1215

    H7861 (177.92)
    GPU: 6910
    CPU: 35732
    E8400 @ 4003MHz
    GTX260 @ 756/1512/1242

    I hate that when drivers increase performance in one game, and cause fps drop in others, what is so difficult to increase fps in every game?

    Hope the official release can get better

    uninstall rivatuner, delete the rivatuner folder, re-install rivatuner, overclock away.

    Use old driver for your card? Its not like your going to play new games and getting reasonable fps with your card anyway.
    And you did see that this is a beta driver?
    It is made to test some things upon the cards listed in its inf.
    You can always use a modded info file to make it work on your system thou.

    Is there any chance that we 8600GT users will get to try those 180.43s?
