Can anyone explain in laymans terms exactly what this feature means/does? I realise it measures the load/balance on an SLI system, but where exactly should the green bar be/what does it represent?

Here's two shots, one from GRID, one from Crysis.

    Thanks.

It shows how the rendering load is spread over the cores in SLI mode.
The top half of the bar is 1 GPU, the bottom half of the bar is the other GPU.

As you can see, GRID hardly benefits from SLI and Crysis benefits quite a bit.

btw. anyone, correct me if my explanation is wrong:)

Hmm ok, makes sense :) GRID was running at 16xAA/16xAF, which you'd think would make use of both GPU's, as it's fairly graphics intensive. Is it a case of SLI isn't being stressed (load wise), or the game has issues with SLI?

How do you enable the SLI indicator?

It appears the game doesn't have issues with SLI since the game works fine but it also seems the game engine just doesn't benefit from SLI either

I wouldnt advise messing with nHancer if your new to SLI.
Id say the best way to enable it is with "NVIDIA Control Panel", click "Manage 3D Settings" on the left hand menu. Now move up to the top menu item, "3D Settings" and select "Show SLI Visual Indicators".

It shows how your GPUs are sharing the graphics load and will overlay the name of SLI in your system: two GPU SLI will over "SLI", 3-way NVIDIA SLI will overlay "SLI x3", and Quad SLI will overlay "Quad SLI". For games that are rendered using alternate frame rendering (AFR), a green vertical bar will grow up and down on your screen, depending on the amount of scaling. For games that are rendered using split-frame rendering (SFR) , a green horizontal line will move up and down on your screen, showing how the load is being balanced between each GPU. If the upper half and the lower half of the screen have a similar level of detail, the horizontal line will stay close to the middle.

Edit: I am not sure if GRID explicitly support SLI. You may have to define a custom profile. I could be wrong though... I don't have GRID on the PC to test it.

Awesome, thanks for the advice guys/gals. I'll have a look into if there is a profile setup for GRID also, thanks again.

01: why isnt there an option for Scan Line Interleve?
02: nvidia did actually buy 3dfx along time ago right?
03: each gpu would render every other line in a scene instead of the current methods nvidia uses which are based like xvid, divx or VBR (which is basicaly an algorythim that computes more when a scene chanfes drasticly from the next scene and dont compute hardly at all if the current scene is almost the same as the next scene

TRUE SLI IS WAY BETTER IMHO...as it actually increased your fps alot more then these methods.

here is the link to the non sli benchmarks

here is the link to the sli benchmarks
    http://www.gribbsy.com/oldsite/slibench.htm

both are done with the same system by the same guy. i guess they didnt have the fancy tools back then as they do today fow web presentation

anyhow i would think that having each gpu do alternate lines would be better as there would be no computing for checking what to render in a scene based on what has changed from scene to scene.

most notably scroll down to each site to the "GLQuake" "Demo1" and look at the 800*600 test
    avg fps on non-sli = 75.6
avg fps on sli = 139.5
that looks like a 100% fps increase to me

    any input on this?

You may club me like a seal, but I cant find the switch (Show SLI Visual Indicators) you are describing. Could you be a bit more specific. Or is it just inherent in your OS XP64. I have searched for it in Vista32Pro and in XP32Home, to no avail.

    Thy in advance
