Current specs on the side. I read around and hear that a 4870 is bottlenecked even on Quad cores. Is this true? Will it preform to its maximum potential on my current system? But also i have another question. Should i consider getting another Video Card? I game on both of my screens, One being a 17" (1280x1024) And a 32" that goes upto 1360x768 i think. I play the latest games and such, And i would like to be future-proof.
hmmm well i had a 4870 it was bottlenecked on a dual-core @ 2.8ghz a quad @ 3.2ghz should be fine but i released everydrop of power of my hd4870 when i was hitting 4ghz
That would be hard to believe. Check out some benchmarks on bottlenecking. I seen one where a heavy SLI system gained only a couple FPS going from a low end dual core CPU to top of the line stuff. I didnt really notice a FPS increase going from my x2 5600+ to my Q6600@3ghz. The only major difference was that FPS seemed more stable. None of that dropping to 10 FPS at hard moments when my average was over 30. You play at a somewhat low resolution so you should be flying for a while with that card. I also have my HD-TV hooked up and I have a profile to turn it off when gaming for max performance.
Yea i profiled mine as well I just like playing games on it that i can use with my Controller. Assassins Creed , DMC4 and Pro street etc. I cant get the card for another 2 weeks, Hopefully there will be a price drop within those 2 weeks
