Nah the brands dont make a difference it should be fine. Most ATI board partners use the reference design anyway.
Yep all 4870's right now are reference boards anyways. So any brand will crossfire with another brand.
Sharphire is good. 3d Club is worst Diamond is good also... there is no difference in cards but complictation you get (stuff with the card) are what make the brand
