the processor you have is very similar to the top of the line amd's, but you should be able to overlock the hell out of your q6600, the bottleneck for gaming right now is in the GPU much more than the cpu

yeah, pretty much this. there is nothing wrong with your system. I like AMD systems (just replaced mine) but what you said in OP sounds like someone spreading FUD, the 9850 is a good CPU, but it isn't any better than your CPU especially after you overclock it. its a sideways trade not an upgrade.

I think he just got dated information. This was true in most cases with the Athlons and Pentiums, but not so anymore, obviously.

exactly those 2 8500gt's don't shine in anyway... sry but true

get a better gpu, something like geforce260gtx or ati 4870, it will help more rather than buying a new cpu.
    :)

and yes 9850 is a good cpu but still not as good as the new yorkfields,.. if you play over 1600x1200 than it doesnt matter really lol, if u have a qx9770 or a amd 9850, your gpu becomes the bottleneck then..

here is a review of this cpu - look at higher resolutions

The 9850 is fine. It'll play your games at good fps if you get a better video card.
