do it on safe mode boot (its safest way to reinstall), or go task manager and finish every PHYSX_8_018.exe...

    Also...
Steps to update driver SAFEST WAY
1-Unistall driver (this doesnt delete EVERY file, driver sweeper will fix this ;) )
    2-Reboot and go into safe-mode
3-Use guru3d driver sweeper (downloads section) and delete nvidia diplay driver.
    4-Install new driver
    5-Reboot.

From the official release notes (no one reads these things anymore, or at least so it seems...):

Unlocker is your friend. It will unlock the file open by the other program.

Yes I agree, I'm looking for some benchmarks, now on page 3 or 4.

BTW, I had my first crash (to desktop with "Crysis has stopped working") with these drivers. Anyone else? OC'ing seems no different than previous drivers.

Also, someone was saying textures are blurry in COD4.... they are crisp as apples for me.

Downclocking fine; running TF2 without any problems. Sadly, it seems every driver set since xxx.41 doesn't run TF2 as good (as .41 official); but this one is close.

Image quality seems very nice, I noticed this in game yesterday kind of looking around afresh...

AA in battlefield 2 and battlefield 2142 is broken with this driver.
This driver sux, do not use it.
After returning too 177.41 all my problems went away with AA in games.

    177.41 is still a go

Nvidia all the three latest driver releases have sucked.
i want the options in 177.41 back with the next driver. override program manually is gone.

These may suck for you but for the most ppl they are more then ok. They work great on my system and nothing is "broken" as you said. Didnt notice much improvement in games tho ( cod4, crysis, mass effect, grid and gow looks and fells the same :bang: )

Worked great on my System. I ran a few tests and my FPS did increase in a few games (Crysis, COD4, TF2). About 5-10% across the board. Not to shabby :)

    No problems encountered.

What was your previous driver? 175.19? 177.83? Or another?

Not trying to be a smartass, I just think it would be handy if people would list their previous driver version for comparison.

I rolled back to .89 as they perform MUCH better in TF2. These drivers probably don't work very well for HL2 based games.

    Problem..

I've had problems as with these as with previous version of forceware witch came with physx drivers bundled. Instalatin seem fine to the point where it just freezes after the question weather i want or not to install beta driver. And after a while (about 5 min or more) it says that changes to the system were not applyed. After I retart, drivers are installed but without physx drivers. Then I have to do it manualy. Is it just me or somebody else have the same problem?

I have Vista x86 and 8800GTS 512 Gainward. The same thing occured on Vista x64.

Forgot to mention... Every other driver beta or WHQL runs perfecty (at least installer do)

seem to be going great for me best drivers so far, but i will be switching the a 4870 or 4850 soon anyway so

Well for me this is something new i have not seen since the original Vista drivers.
Every time i try to move to "SLI enabled" it crashes my system.
I had that with Quad sli in early Vista drivers.
So i have alot of experience with installing around the issue.
I could not get SLI to enable without a crash on these 92`s. So beware this is a serious BETA release for some setups.:3eyes:
In fact i had to do a restore to get SLI back on the 89`s.

I had the time today to test these too. I was looking forward to benching and posting these like the 89`s "Bummer"

Noob question: After deleting the physX installer and have installed just the display driver and rebooted, do I have to install the physX software?
I ask since I dont use any game that uses physX.
    Thanx for any answers :)

Since you don't run any games that use PhysX it really doesn't matter, if you install it or not. It does not affect your performance in any way in those games that don't use it. ;)

I'd install it. In case you're still worried, you can disable it here:
