The increase in speed is over the 175.19 drivers which, for whatever reason, are still the "latest" non-beta drivers on the driver page. I don't know what they are calling the 177.83s but they aren't beta drivers or production drivers. They are... uhh... special I guess.

I did some testing with City of Heroes. Looks like no significant difference at all between these and the 177.83s in that game.

    Code:

So, unless there's something specific you need to fix, it's probably best to give these a miss.

is that a new physics driver in the setup or the last release?

It's new but there is an even newer dated (same version but whql) physx set available from the physx site.

Just a quick helpful heads up. For the couple people that couldn't get it to install where it says that nothing has been updated, you do know there's a workaround, right? All you do is unrar the .exe and delete the PhysX installer .exe from the unrar'd files. Then it will install from the setup in that directory without that problem. Probably best to do this anyway since PhysX went WHQL already and you'll want to install that driver instead.

No bud. The increase in speed is from Nvidia messing with the IQ. COD4 looks blurry with no AF/AA. Textures look washed out. You can force it on in game or with the CP it makes no dif. There are many people reporting this not just me. Also it's not just with COD4 the problem exists.

177.83 isnt "special" they are WHQL yes...but they are the last what I call "working" set to date. 177.89 has the same problem in games as 177.92

177.83 ist he last WHQL set not 175.19.

Yeah, I know the workaround, I just wished they could make it work without any "workarounds", thats all.

They look ok, and I'm going to test some games tonight. The only complaint I have and I sent it in to Nvidia, is that they are bundling the Physx Software with the damn drivers. They need to be seperated cause right now I'm not using the Physx as I'm not playing any games that use it. So either make them two different installs or make the installer prompt to ask you if you wish to install it or not. Otherwise I had to remove it once I loaded the driver which required another reboot.

    just my 2cents on them...
