The 9700 wasnt designed for quads anyway... all they've done is modified its fittings and blown it slightly out of proportion from the 9500, which i used on my AMD 4000+ years ago

Subfire, 47C idle is definitely too high for your Wolfdale running stock. I would suggest reseating the cooler.

Luxury, the source of your information?

Tjmax for Q9450 is 100C per Intel. Use Core Temp, or Real Temp v2.75.

You either have a bad/stuck DTS or there is a problem with the CPU cooler installation (uneven pressure, uneven Thermal Compound distrubution, etc.). Take the cooler out, and look at the TIM spread on the mating surfaces. If the coverage is incomplete or uneven, you have identified the problem. Clean and remount with fresh Thermal Compound. If the coverage is even, most likely one of the DTS are not working right.

Well I give up, says my hottest core is around 50C at idle...Who gives a crap anyway it is stable and I sure as hell aint fooking around with the cooler HS. I tried about 20times to get better temps with no luck. So I obviously have a faulty core 0 sensor as all my others are below 50C....

lol same boat as you. I idle around 45-50c also, tried everything in the world other then watercooling, and gave up. Everything is stable, max temps I've seen is 70-75c.
