I was thinking of this solution myself.

I suppose it depends on what the Don thinks.

Btw, does anyone else have the same issue? Or is it just me using a low resolution or something?

That's most likely the reason. ;)

Wasn't there rumors of a GDDR4 version of a 4850 coming? We've all seen that the 4800 core loves bandwidth (see 4870), so that could be a good way to really make use of that powerhouse chip.

I try to understand why you take Mass-Effekt to test the difference between the Memory-Sizes?

Even in 2560x1600 ME do not take more than 256MB VRAM.

Because Mass Effect is a major game.

Even Grid is hard to take over 512MB

If you're running a 32-bit system, either XP or Vista, the graphics memory will indeed bite a 2GB chunk out of your system memory and reduce your current 4 gigs to below 2, so if you wish to make use of this card, 64-bit is the way to go.

1GB of GDDR5 would make it a 4870. The core could be overclocked fairly easily to 4870 speeds, the difference in the two cards is really just the memory.
