9-10k is completely doable with a AMD cpu. i just ran 3dmark06 and scored 9839 with my trusty old s939 Opty :)

3dmark is waaay to cpu dependant.

    example ... 9800gtx + 3.0ghz c2d = 13k ish
    ............... 9800gtx +oc@4.0ghz = 18k+

even though in games that extra 5k+ from the cpu would be nowhere near the performance upgrade a 3.0ghz c2d + a videocard that = 18k marks would provide.

I'm not saying 6500 is correct as I haven't a clue what you should be getting though =/

below 60 under load? Are you kidding me? 60 should be the idle temps with stock cooler. Even 65 is common. Under load it should go to 80. Clearly is the card underperforming

Yes, below 60 on load and clocks (648/900/1620) totally stable according to rivatuner readings. The card has zalman cooler factory installed, so maybe that explains low temperatures

Problem solved! It really was about motherboard bios. I'm should be a shamed of myself right now for not giving it a try before. :bang:
Bios updated and now everything is running smoothly

Thanks to you all for help!

try the new 177.79 xtreme-g drivers and then check your bios for the pci-e settings...make sure its not 1x and its 16x

well i checked that and it said it should work on 16x(and it was actually running on pci-e 1x).
after a bios reset everything worked as it should and i finally could play cod 4.( at 1600x1200 2xAA 16xAF :D) but my cpu overclock is now gone :(

I get 20 fps more average on 3dmark06 graphics test after flashing it =) , EXCEPT for the CPU TEST i still get only 1 - 0 fps....really that number is ridiculous
