i want to purchase a new motherboard and i dont know what to buy. these days there are so many tipes of chipset that i dont know what to choose (i'm a noob when it comes about motherboards)-i'm not interested in sli mode:D.
also what is better an E8400 or Q6600 (thay have the same price)?
    on my new system i'll have a 8800gt videocard, 4gb ddr2 (1066 mhz), 600 watt source
    thx

    Why not get a Q9450?

Get a Hd 4850 about same price as 8800gt but much better.

    4GB corsair may I suggest.

If you are not interested in SLI or CF, I strongly reccomend the p5k premium. Great board and very stable.

Go for the q6600, 4 cores is better than 2, and you can overclock it to get the e8400 frequency.
Get an intel board, they are more stable than nvidia. p5k premium was a good suggestion but basically anything with a p45, x38 or x48 chipset and you'll be set.

    It consumes less power.

So then it runs cooler basically new architechture than older B3 stepping and also overclocks better.
