No Fallout 3 for you guys. Wtf is up with that? http://www.gamespot.com/news/6193496.html?tag=latestnews;title;0
see? this is why some decent people get into piracy and the Australianese are no exception, get your client ready aussies lol give 'em hell boys. hoooah.
Hell, I'll become a seeder to help out you guys if that's the case. The Office of Film and Literature Classification can't possibly be THAT f*cking stupid to think that they can actually stop our Australian friends from obtaining that game? Can they?
Isn't this because in Australia the highest age limit on games is 15(?) and any game that is rated higher isn't allowed to be sold.
This is ridiculous! Imo, retailers should be enforced to verify the ID, and make sure that whoever buys a game is 18 (or whatever the legal age for being an adult is in a country). That shouldn't be too hard, should it? Completely banning it from being sold, though, is taking it a step too far, imo.
i absolutely agree with cybermancer here. age limits are there for a reason, and there are enough grown-up gamers nowadays to make a game that appeals to them and sells in big enough numbers to make a profit. there is no need to ban these games, but i can understand an enforced age limit.
Never thought any country asides from mine would have such restrictive/dumb policies. Can you guys over there import stuff? Thats what I do with nearly all of my games.
From the looks of things, they need to revisit their rating system. The MA 15+ is fine, but the need to add one for adult gamers. What makes that type of violence and drug use any different from what you find in movies? Are movies with those types of things banned? There may be a few, but the rating system allows for the identification and proper sales of these types of movies.
yea we get screwed over with things like that it is all because of a moron by the name of Michael Atkinson who is the Attorney-General of South Australia (alteration in classification guidelines in Australia can only happen if there is unanimous decision by all state and federal Attorneys-Generals) basically the argument is should we allow 18+ ratings kids will get access to bad stuff, so going by that argument why the f*ck even have a classification system in the first place, getting sick of being screwed over because some brain-deads in Australia think it's easier to blame things than to take responsibilities...not to mention we see worst sh*t on tv and movies (oh no we must ban this game because they do drugs but it's ok to see it on tv because it's more realistic) whatever it's ok in the end it doesn't really affect me ...i just buy my games from play-asia, it's cheaper anyway
Thats the problem We dont have a R18 Classifiaction for games only movies, and likely will never have one, Our games are either Banned or Cut down version, IE GTA4
Site is down so I didn't get to read it. It was not officially banned as far as I know. It was refused classification. That means that it may be resubmitted with the offending parts cut out just like what happened to GTA4.
Here is a list of games autralian "CANT" play in australian ground. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banned_video_games what a joke. I think all countries who deny games from citisen are compared to china. so bull****. When Carmageddon comed to FInland, It had button to remove all pedestrials xD Main problem was that it was impossible to play without them, Not enought time from cans =) It was fun to drive over pixel people =) UK had robots =/ What an idea xD Germans had zombies?
l am Aussie and it is crap, why do they do this, and l was at EB shop and there was one case which they checked their ID, but for games l didn't get asked, and if there is age restrictions not all enforce it, or don't care about it, so their just sell it to anyone.
