You need something from the Core 2 Duo class if you want to take real advantage off it. But yeah it'll be a big difference compared to 6600GT either way...
thx for the reply.. anyway I'm not rly into single player games.. I'm more into mmorpgs so they don;t require as much resources as single player games.. also.. I'm buying this card to get ready for diablo3 .. anytime it will come , can't wait :X
I think it's probably about time you got yourself a decent Power supply. GPUs need steady current, and there is likely to be a big difference between a branded modern PSU and what you currently have. It would be wise to get one of the major branded ones, I would suggest 500-650 watts to give you some headroom for a system upgrade. As you will read elsewhere, a good PSU can cure a lot of crashes caused by current fluctuations and heat build up. Anything by Antec, Akasa etc will also likely be a lot quieter too. You'll be looking at spending about £60 though.
