I played it on PS3 and Xbox 360, just to see the difference..., but its not even half as playable as older GTA's on PC! Im waiting for the PC version... looks like a great game btw... with GTA 3 story like quality...
I have GTA4 for the PS3 but its S H I T ! worst controls ever with those gamepads I'm waiting for a proper GTA experience on the PC just like old times, PS3 is for watching movies .
But wasn't GTA3, being the first 3D version of the game and the one most resembling what we play today, first available on the PS2 and then ported to PC months later? Hasn't this been the case for Vice City and San Andreas as well? No surprise that GTA4 looks to be following the same pattern is it? A game pad is the proper experience, that like saying "I'm waiting for the proper C&C experience on the PS1 just like old times..." which makes about as much sense.
I think its easier to afford a £300 console than it is a £1000+ high-end rig Though good news indeed for PC fans!
GTA was made for the PC not a console what consoles were around in 1997 ? none that could have run GTA thats for sure it was raped of content,gfx etc to run on a PS1 .
GTA3 was the first 3D GTA (the direct ancestor to the series as we know it now) and was PS2 timed exclusive, as I addressed in my previous post if you'd care to go back and read it. Since then its always been consoles first then PC months later. Yeah both, vehicle sections on GTA4 are easier on a pad and with the lock on system in GTA4 the need for mouse like accuracy is hugely reduced.
GTA 4 for PC, hope it's not just a port and they improve on an already brilliant game, got 10/10 on gamespot, hope they make it 11/10 for pc version
i'd be quite happy with a score of 9 or 10/10, so far the previous GTA games has been ported just fine Rockstar seem to do their job just fine compared to something like Ubisoft. i'm not too worried really.
No GTA2 was 2D, but they included an illusion to make it appear 3D. Grand Theft Auto 3 (or 1 in the 3D series), was the first 3D version of GTA.
yeah i agree with you..to many 10 reviews but the game isn't perfect all..it's a great game..but not a 10 game..a 9..yes..anyway i'll wait and see how the pc version will...one thing i hope they will improve big time, the texture loading...on the 360 had huge lags when you drove at high speeds..the texture loaded very slow..the pc is capable of a lot better texture loading, but it depends on how they port the game..
Happy days, happy days. I woulda played it on a console if I had to (if I owned a 360 or a PS3...) but definitely more interested in a PC version. Aiming with a gamepad is just a sad way to target enemies , mouse ftw.
oh god please be true. I already have it on the PS3 but will gladly dump it for a PC version. GTA 4 would really shine on a PC, consoles just dont do it justice.
i'm still enjoying the game btw, i like good graphics and frames like everyone else but you guys are whores and tools. i've never let those stop me from enjoying a great game. the only thing i want from the PC version is Camhack so i can play it in first person..i loved playing it that way in gta 3 vc i thought it played pretty good, i never had no trouble getting my character to do what i wanted to do.
