Your problem might be the same as a problem I was having. I found that ATT caused frame skipping on regular intervals for me. Right click ATT, goto options, then turn off ATT Shared memory, or what ever it's called. See if that works for you. Sorry I can't be more specific as I'm on my laptop.

Strange Aspect ratio issue with Cat 8.6
Ray, I don't use CCC but instead use ATT and obviously Cat 8.6, so like before (since 8.3) I upgraded from 8.5 to 8.6, driver only, and for some reason lost the Maintain aspect ratio setting which is found in CCC, so every res below 1680x1050 displayed as 4:3 on my widescreen monitor with black bars at the sides.
Previously all res displayed proper aspect ratio's.
Originally when I installed cat 8.3 full package and then shifted over to ATT, and uninstalling CCC, I had no issues until 8.6.
To fix this I had to install full CCC and driver 8.6 then uninstall CCC and all is fine again.
BTW same happened WinXP and Vista, both 32bit.

What I am wondering is whether this function can be added to ATT, as this is always greyed out, it seems strange that what is a CCC function remains after uninstalling CCC, so maybe a registry entry perhaps?

    Thanks for the reply Ray.
It doesn't matter all that much as I know how to fix it, just a bit strange though considering that since 8.3 I hadn't had this issue.
I was aware it wasn't an ATT issue anyway.

    Attention to everyone.
If all your D3D games crashes with ATT installed, but you can play OpenGL game, you MUST UPDATE your DirectX engine! (In some of last beta versions of ATT I have updated D3D9 screenshots support)
This can happened on Clean Vista installation even with SP1 installed!

Ok , then could you tell me which one is your latest version, because i have 1.4.7.1201, in that one did u put the screenshot support ? i'll check if my directx engine is update, Thank's.

btw i edit something: i'd like to add that i have catalyst 8.6 and with Catalyst A.I on high, if i play direct3d games like "Audition Dance" i get a black screen (i can hear that the game is still running but no display).., but not a single problem with OpenGL games (Counter strike 1.6).
I could fix the direct3d games just setting A.I to low.
<-----------And as u can see my card is a 9550, so is not a problem of X*** cards.

    Thank's again ^^.

Strange problem. I'm stil unable to understand why sometimes some people has this problem. I think this is because of conflict with other software.
Can you guyz give the list of software (running in background) and also full hardware info and OS version too.

Sorry Ray, I'm no longer having the problem. And since I was having the problem I've changed to a Q6600 from an E6400, Windows Vista X64 from Vista X86, cat 8.6 from maybe cat 8.3 or 8.4, and I no longer use AVG anti-virus software.

There are lots of other small changes, but I cannot remember them.

that would be me, Dell branded 3870X2 with 512meg per core.

Using cat 8.6 atm, with the beta 1.4.7.1201
What do you want to know?

Running modified 2k3 server, AMD x2 6000+ at 3.2gig per core, 4 gig ram.

Nothing interesting. Just a few test procedure to check them on HD 4xxx boards.

Hmm. It shouldn't be like this! I have to check it

Ray, thanks for the awesome utility and your hard work.

This thread is HUGE however, and i think i have lost track. Im using 1201, however i dont have the apply clocks to both cards option.

Also i have enabled CF (i have a 3870X2), but now i cant disable it using ATT.

Have you removed the apply clocks to both cards option? Or has something else borked.

    Thanks.

EDIT: read more of the thread, and then downloaded the latest beta.
the enabling and disabling of CF now works.
I wont be overclocking this card, so powerplay will be fine for now. Thanks for such an awesome utility.

Is there any documentation available for ATi Tray Tools? I'm trying to get my Sapphire HD3850 AGP (on XP SP3, P4 3.2HT, 2GB DDR Kingston HyperX) fully working. It currently has issues with WMV acceleration and the ATi MPEG decoder doesn't work properly on h264 HD material. (shows it in slow-motion, it seems it is pounding the CPU, but I have no clue as to why/what it is doing)

I solved the WMV issues by using the WMV powertoy and disabling post processing (seems to be heavily dependent on the CPU. Even though it was using 50% or less on the CPU, the DXVA log pointed to delays due to excessive CPU time per frame, up to 160ms).

I partially solved the ATi MPEG decoder problems by ticking some option in the Advanced Tweak dialogue of ATi Tray Tools (DXVA_WMV_PF, DXVA_WMV, DXVA_MPEG2, DXVA_AYUV0 and Enable MT support). While h264 HD still doesn't play fluently (play 720p50 @ about 45 frames with 80% CPU), it's about twice as fast as previous. Cyberlink and MPC-HC have no problems with h264 HD material btw. Less than 15% cpu-usage. CoreAVC pulls about 95%.

So I'm almost there, just not quite. With some documentation, I may be able to figure out what I can do to get everything working a-ok.

    Code:
