I sold my BFG 9800GX2 due to the fact that people were having Issues with DUAL SCREENS and Supreme Commander. Seeing as how I'm not really a "hard core gamer" I have no need for SLI I have $540.22 in my PAYPAL ACCOUNT. I want to get a SINGLE 9800 GX and a waterblock/tubing/clips to go with it. Since I need to ship this card out Like tomm I need some fast advice I guess. As far as watercooling setup goes I have a 3d Mercury Pro case that came with a GIGABYTE watercooling setup. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811233020 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811233021 People have ran 8800GTX/8800 Ultra card with no issues on my case setup. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143133 So my question is should I just get this card? ^^^ Or get regular 9800 GX overclock it and get a danger den block? http://www.dangerden.com/store/product.php?productid=339&cat=48&page=1 9800 GX cards http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...68310557&Description=9800&bop=And&Order=PRICE
First of all, it is a 9800 GTX. Secondly, I haven't heard any particularly good things about DD GPU blocks, but haven't heard any particularly bad things either. I did a quick look for reviews, but could not find any. I would suggest doing some review hunting for the BFG 9800 GTX with the water block, and seeing how it performed. Also, a list of what you run in your watercooling setup (radiator, pump, how man/which blocks etc) would be nice.
Some guys over at OC Forums recommended a 8800GTS (G92) Said was same performance and cheaper.I am now looking at this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143120 ^^ However someone recommended the below setup. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150261 http://www.swiftnets.com/products/mcw60-R.asp http://www.swiftnets.com/products/MC14.asp
That newegg link does not work for me. Anyway, the 8800 GTS (512MB G92) is a very good card from the sounds of it. Definitely worth a look in to. Regardless of card, buying a GPU block and adding some quality ramsinks is alwasy a good alternative to buying a full blown card. Saves a lot of money, and can be arguably better as well. And besides, you can always overclock the card yourself with that extra cooling. I would suggest 8800 GTS (G91) with those ramsinks ad the GPU block, and then just do some overclocking to your heart's desire.
yup-they said if you run a huge waterblock that covers entire card it absorbs heat from ram as well and ur card just gets hotter and doesn't cool as well.
