It may be true, but as a rule of thumb, I never trust The Inquirer... They tend to let out alot of misleading information. Often.
Think it could be a rumor not for sure, can't trust them. Remember about the 780i? It gave a date in Dec 07 for release, I forgot tho. But we all know the 780 was release this year. This is not official. I just hope it comes out soon and be as fast or faster then 8800gtx in sli so I don't have to sli for now. I hate the bosd and lookups in vista x64.
I absolutely cannot stand that Charlie guy's writing. Not only does he write poorly (some of his articles are very unclear), he has such a negative bias towards nvidia that he ends up sounding like an arrogant prick. I cannot stand ignorant fanboys (I don't even know if there is such a thing as a non ignorant fan boy?). According to him, the GTX280 will "quite likely lose badly to the R700, very badly...". I never trust the inquirer either.. but im told this communication was sent to other sources....its more hearsay but its totally believable for them to release their new line of cards to compete against ATIs new line.
Inquirer's interesting enough to get a hit from me occasionally, but both of those articles are complete jokes. That's about as biased as I've ever seen them, actually.

The Inquirer are major ATi fanboys and it shows in almost every one of their articles based on either company. I dont know how they can call themselves credible sources of info, when they're proven they cant do math my their own readers, theyre blatant pricks and are well known on the internet as cock knockers who cant write.
