xan K: pretty sure the Z-5500's satellite's can be set up as full range.

NO!!, You were right! The Z-5500 satellites are SMALL speakers. They cannot produce low frequencies and have a mid level crossover So set the system for SMALL speakers. If not you will be sending a bunch of bass to them that they cannot handle. Set all settings to small speakers...

Note, a examples of large speakers would be those full range tower speakers sometimes seen on older stereos etc. If you have a sub to provide low frequencies chances are your speakers are classified as small. Also the Z-5500 sats only have one driver IIRC, which will not provide full range sound.

that's what I always believed, until I read this specs sheet in a reviewer's page:
    • Bass power output: 188 W
    • Satellite power output: 4 X 62 W + 69 W (center module)
    • Frequency response: 33 Hz - 20 kHz
    • Inputs: 5.1 line or 3 line, auxiliary line in, digital S/P DIF optical and coaxial inputs
    • Headphone jack: on Control Pod
    • Satellites: 3" full-range with phase plug
    • Subwoofer: 10" woofer
    • Satellite dimensions: 3.7" X 7.4" X 4.7"
    • Subwoofer dimensions: 13" X 13.3" X 18.1"
then, it confused things up quite a bit.

have any of your guys ever had to rma something back to auzentech. If so how long did it take to get the rma number. Because I sent the rma forum again incase they didnt get it. like 2 days ago.

Never sent any thing to me since then. I started to think I fill the form out wrong or something. Because the way you have to fill it out confuses me. I think it would had been better if they just gave you the rma number instead of making you fill this confusing thing out.

They are full range, and this review tests their full range capabilities. They come out quite well too.

    I've got mine set-up wrong too. :-(

Th review says the guy, measured them from 200Hz to 20Hz,,,That is NOT full range.

20hz-20Khz IS full range, which the Sats on the Z-5500's don't have a hope in hell of reproducing. Unless there is a mix up in terminology, the sats on the Z-5500's are small.
Setup your system however it sounds good to you. This is how I understand it.
Just to note: There is a concept called full range drivers, in which the speaker is designed to give as wide a frequency response as possible. We also have Full range speakers, which are built to give the widest frequency range as possible. It could be the two are being confused.

ye, that's where the confusion could be. anyways, I tried both ways and I couldn't hear any difference, at least in music.

I just got a replacement prelude back from them. They got the card Wednesday of last week and had a new one shipped out the same day, and I got the package on Saturday.

The RMA form is a pain, I just sent them the details for each field and they filled it out for me. But yeah, they replied to my first support request within 6 hours, and didn't reply to my follow-up for over a week.

yeah, the naming is kinda of confusing. they should've named it a new version, RC5.2 maybe. anyways, I downloaded it and two files had CRC errors. luckily they were only Japanese setup bitmaps. setup worked fine.

not only was the archive corrupt, it gave me an error during installation. I continued anyways. Today my PC crashed and now Gaming mode no longer gives me any output, while Creation/Entertainment do.

    Lovely.

So its basically just Dolby Digital fixes then?

I wonder if thats related in any way to the whole Daniel_K/Creative fiasco...

More or less..just bug hunting and housekeeping to make the product more stable and fix reported issues.
