Looking for a A Cpu Cooler / Hsf for Intel Core 2 Quad, Ideas??

    Hi guys,
Im in need of a new CPU Cooler / HSF for a Intel core 2 Quad Q6600, currently at stock speed but hoping to overclock to 3.2 GHZ. Im finding it hard to overclock with the stock Cooler and it is really noisy! :bang:

I would really apreatiate any sugestions.

    Thanks

    Scythe Ninja?
    Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme?

With either of those get a Noctua NF-P12 120mm fan to cool them :)

The Zalmans are more for silence than anything else. Not sure how well they would perform with an overclocked quad. I guess it depends whether u value silence or temps/speed!

As Xafier said, the Noctua NF-P12 120mm fans are meant to be great. Might be a little pricey, but very quiet and still push alot of air!

    I'm using the Freezer7 Pro with my Q9450 OC'd to 3.21 and running at 29C ATM. ;)

Nice job... the Freezer 7 Pro's have been around a while, and are really great value imo. Wasnt sure if they were still keeping up with the big boys, but u certainly seem to be getting decent temps.

However, no doubt a Q6600 will run hotter than a 9450, seeing as its 65nm rather than 45nm.

I'm also using the Freezer 7 Pro, all four cores at 39C with the fan at ~800RPM. It can go up to 2800RPM but it's a bit too noisy for my taste.

Another vote for the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme. No problems running Q6600 at 3.6G.

Another vouch for the Freezer 7 Pro from me ;)!

It keeps my Q6600 Under 60 degrees on all 4 cores, OC'd to 3240 Mhz!
