so i bought UTIII today and went online and WOW theres like hardly anybody on.

 

Good thing i didnt buy it then, really wanted the game when i upgraded my rig but after seeing many people say the same thing, im just not gonna bother.

 

Moron, Epic stated many years ago that they'll hold another Make Something Unreal contest for UT 3/2007 like they did for UT 2004. So it's not "a last ditch effort", but it's them keeping a promise.

I'm also a big fan of the series, and still play UT3 from time to time despite having trouble finding a good, populated server. I do hope however that EPIC pulls something BIG out to save this game. (I'm thinking along the lines of ut2003-ut2004)

 

They also promised that UT3 would play very similar to how ut99 played.. LIE. They made tons of promises about ut3 that simply don't deliver.. again, LIES. Doesn't bother me much, they just won't get any more of my money again.

Anyway, if anyone wants my copy of UT3 its for sale. The "make something unreal" contest for ut3 IS more a last ditch effort than it was for other versions, because 99 and 2k3-2k4 didn't really need them due to the overwhelming amount of people playing those games and modding for them, unlike ut3 with the overwhelming amount of people who have jumped ship
entirely.
Sure maybe there will be mods and whatnot, but by then we'll already have new engines and games.. nobody will care about ut3 in a year from now.

 

Sorry, but it is moronic to say that it's a last ditch effort (in my opinion). Anyway, UT 3 sure is a lot more like UT 99 than UT 2004. The floaty feeling is gone and the gameplay has slowed down a bit.

 

^ which means virtually nothing since it phucking sucks. I happily played 99 for years and could continue to do so. The newest is dark, out of balance, and poorly made. Gamers aren't stupid.. Epic thought they could put it past their core PC audience.. they were wrong.

Personally, I love the game. In the last 2 months, quite a bit of really good community content (maps, models) has been released. I still miss the options to configure your players and teams, but I like the gameplay.

I'm not an online player, so I can't comment on that aspect of the game.

 

well after playing the Facing Worlds map in the bonus pack for 5 hours straight i think im hooked on unreal again.
once again its the most fun map in unreal by far.

Still none of the fixes alot of people were hoping to see, after all these months of waiting I'm sorry to say it's been a waste of time...

 

What fixes? The game is good as it is imo.

 

Whats the deal with this game anyway ? are the servers still deserted ? mainly interested in the EU region.
