Help me guyz...i just succesfully softmoded 3870 into 8650 but when i rebooted the catalyst control center is given warning message "The catalyst Control center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics cadapter please update your ati graphics driver or enable your ati adapter using the display manager" and i cant change my resolution...plz tell me the solution to this
just uninstall the current one you have. restart the computer install the CCC manually from C:\AMD\firegl_8_44_xp32_056527\CCC\ Should work fine.
Thanks Boogah Strangely i unistalled and redo the same steps and this time it worked...ccc installed...resolution is now perfect..but ccc is not starting..does it starts for u??..also will softmoding to AMD FireStream 9170 have performance difference compare to 8650 ?? which one is better??
shouldn't be any diff, it would be using the same drivers. Did you restart the machine after you installed the CCC ? I think it require some .NET updates from microsoft also. Never had a problem for me.
i have tried again...its not starting...when i right click on desktop its coming there on the top catalyst control center but its not starting...i got updated .net framework IS CCC very important...do we need to make any changes in tht???
Hi! softmod is very interesting to me.....now i want to buy a new card....and there is two choice: HD3870 and HD 4870! do you think which one is better for softmoding? i use 3d max 9 now..... and is there any tutorial about softmodding? M new to the softmodding world?.....LOL thanks before hand
pisey_engineer, do you have time to wait? If yes, you can wait until a patch for 48xx or 4670 becomes available and then decide. the wait may take months. If you need it soon, go with 3870 512 DDR4 or 1GB DDR4. You won't regret it, you will nearly get a Quadro FX 4600 or FireGL 8600 performance. If you have around $400, you can buy a 3850 for $130 or so, and if the performance is not good for you, you can but a 4850 or 4870 a few months later for $270 or so when the patch becomes available: so you will not sacrifice anything. I have done the last option. 3850 performance is really very very good.
I think 7700 actually is faster than the 8600 and if you have a decent o/c-ed CPU, it will just about run over all Quadro cards.
