Theres a video interview with some guy from Nvidia on Gamespot about the 9800GX2. In it he starts going on about how close they worked with AMD for the Hybrid Sli 780A board thats coming out. Which is funny considering AMD are meant to be Nvidia's rivals. In 2007 i believe Nvidia and AMD were gettong alot of accusations of price fixing, where they were agreeing between each other when to release cards to get the most money. So it wouldn't surprise me if Nvidia, AMD, and Intel were all in bed together.
im waiting on the SLI performance before i make any decisions about buying this card. No use getting one card cause my 2 gtx is faster then this card. Before anyone say anything i game at 1900 x 1200 so the 2 GTX does better in the high res. just ..
I find myself in a similer position to you, paying 400 pounds for this card does not justify the performance increase, and i could'nt run in sli since I have an intel board. I therefore will have to wait for AMD's next gpu's and hopefully get 2 in crossfire again. Here's hoping the 4000 series is excellent.
I'd be more interested to see what kind of benches someone would have a little old gen 1 Core 2 Duo clocked @ ~3ghz like mine. I realize that people spending $500+ on a video card(s) aren't likely to have an outdated cpu, but I'm considering getting a 9800GX2 since EVGA extended step-up but only if you buy a 9800GX2....
Found this today. For once Crysis is playable at Very high settings and a not too shabby resolution to boot. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ :3eyes: Seems the powers that be dont want the link on here shame really as it's actually showing that Crysis can be maxed out at a High res. Oh well just put 9800GX2 Quad SLI in google an you'll find it.
I hope this helps u all if not already posted. Crysis has a timedemo for each level and u all can bench each one with the crysis benchmark tool.Just goto the crysis installation folder and head to the folder named levels then->eg paste sphere.tmd(from download)in folder sphere. U then run Crysis benchmark tool and then select browse for the timedemo and head for the file sphere.tmd(do the same for each file). More Crysis benchmark files here I will add a screen of the bench of sphere timedemo.
I just wanna say thanks to Kryckter for taking the time to put these benches up for us. Lots of people talked trash about people who would upgrade to the gx2 when it came out, but everyone seems to want those same people to give us the inside scoop now. Thanks a bunch for going to the trouble to do that.
