    So I’m planning this huge system rebuild, and so far I’ve got my heart set on a; DFI LANParty Dk P35-T2RS LGA775 P35 ATX blah blah blah Motherboard

    Now it’s come down to three GPU’s to choose from;

    8800GTS KO Crysis 540MHZ 112SP 640MB 1.7GHZ - $369.99

    8800GTS Crysis Edition 670MHZ 512MB 1.94GHZ - $299.99

    8800GT 600MHZ 512MB 1.8GHZ - $209.99

    And all this will be going inside a nice shiny new Coolermaster 832 case

    And I can't decide where to go! But a important note, there will be NO over-clock.

    Well the best Bang for buck is the 8800GT, But the 8800GTS is faster then the GT at stock speeds. If you ever get into overclocking i have heard of the GTS getting speeds of up to 800 core. But the decision is up to you. Overall the GT is the best bang for buck though.

    GT.

    their performance difference is not linear with their price difference. meaning, your paying more for the small amount of performance increase you get from the GTS.

    8800GT and oc it .. :p ..

  7. I would get the GTS Crysis edition if I were you. I don't regret my purchase, worth the extra money for a better cooler, better specs and better room for overclock(I think) and Crysis comes with it!

    8800gt bang for buck, difference is only 3-7 FPS which isnt all that great.when overclocked about roughly the same in most games but when enabling AA and AF the GTS pulls ahead considerably.

    You'd be paying $90 more for a few more MHz, 16 more shader processors and 8 more texture units if you buy the GTS over the GT. That and a better stock heatsink. Overall the performance of a GTS is not much different than a GT so it doesn't seem to be worth $90 more but it's your call. I personally just went with a GT and overclocked it.

    EDIT: And I guess no one told you, the 320MB/640MB 8800GTS cards are slower than the 8800GT. They have 96 shader processors and 24 texture units. Not to mention far lower frequencies. The only thing it has more of is raster operators which it has 20 as opposed to 16.

    I <3 my GT but I overclock and put a VF900 on it. I get 14,575 3Dmarks with it... more than any STOCK card. If you just want to slap it in and use it, I'd get the GTS since it has a better OEM cooling solution (GT weak point).

    I really boils down to how much you can and want to spend, either way you'll be very happy.

    With prices under $200 now for a GT, thre is no real choice here, best bang for the buck 8800GT! There isn't that much difference in performance from the GT to the GTS, go GT!

    If you don't want to oc the card a 8800gtx is the best deal at 299 right ? If not will someone say so cause I am thinking of getting one. I would be OCing my new card to the max.

    Why not 9600GT? It seems to be the best bang for buck.
