bottleneck with 8800gts and pentium D?

    will there be one? its a pentium D i know that its dual core and had VIIV. if there is one how bad will it be? i plan on it being a gaming PC if that helps

    Which Pentium 4 D is it? I am guessing it's a Presler or w/e but what's the speed of it...You will be bottlenecked most likely though.

    heres what PC wizard says

    pentium D 925 3000 MHZ number of core: 2 support: LGA 775 @ 1.212 volts

    yea it is the presler :( if i wanted a new one would i have to reinstall vista?

    yes a pentium d will bottleneck a 8800gts. whats you mobo?

    It looks to me that if you want to run an 8800GTS successfully you may need a new mobo, CPU, and PSU.

    The 3.0 GHz Wolfdale is reasonably priced, and DDR2 is dirt cheap, if the Wolfie can run with it.

    If you don't want to upgrade your system, then choose an 8600 GTS or better yet a 9600 GT.
