Come on dont overreact. I do agree on the overrated players thing but the football is just as good as before if not even better than before with young talents pushing through in various legaues.
In the Prem the only talent I see is imported. There are a few good young players from the home nations but in comparison to foreigners it's nothing.
Agreed... Rooney is supposed to be the English top striker? ROFL, Ronaldo is so much better at scoring goals, it's ridiculous (even tho he's a midfielder). Now don't even get me startet at comparing Ronaldo's skill, pace and pretty much everything else against that of Rooney's (I still like Rooney, but next to Ronaldo he looks like a muppet). That's just one of many examples. English football sucks, players like SWP and some others struggle to play regular football for their teams. How on earth will England ever have a decent team when they build the team around primadonas like Lampard, Joe Cole, Michael Owen and John Terry? All of them look like amateurs when they come up against real world class players. Even Kazachstan will have a good go at England in the WC qualifiers and I wouldn't be surprised if they come away with a reasonable result...
Who do i support?? well that's easy, the greatest team on earth of course...........http://www.funny-games.biz/images/pictures/518-soccer-dreamteam.jpg But aside from them, i find football a frustrating game to watch. Mostly because because of the PreMadonnas on the pitch and how they behave. Not a hater though.
US And no, I'm like the vast majority of Americans and wouldn't walk across the street to watch a soccer game. No offense, but we just don't find the game to be even remotely interesting. And please, no flame wars. I'm just expressing an opinion and I respect everyone else's.
far from it, the missus' dad is an avid leeds fan, nuff respect. i just hate man U fans and Huns (Rangers) fans. good to see another City boy on here too.
I found the last big Scotland match very funny. A goal 40 odd seconds in. I would have laughed out loud too, if for me not being in a pub, full of Scotland supporters. Probably would have died.
1) UK 2) Not any one one particular However, given that American Football is merely a form of Rugby and that the term 'Football' first became commonplace referring to 'soccer' I think it is the Americans that need to learn to use 'Football' to mean 'soccer'. (and probably something like 'American Rugby' to refer to to 'football')
