Are you telling me I can't get to 760/2000 with a voltmod without better cooling? Come on. 70-80°C with a 8800GT is not a problem. Gainward is going to sell an 8800GT with passive cooling and it gets as hot as 100°C!

760/2000 is what I am running on stock cooling without a volt-mod.

After market cooling becomes important when you get into voltage like 1.35-1.5V and you are running core speeds of 850-900mhz. This is what I was talking about above, your card is not even running 700mhz, imagine the heat at 900mhz.

Also notice your full load is over 15C hotter than the HR-03 GT with a much lower OC than in the review.

I have no idea how to voltmod. Don't like taking such a big risk. Besides, GPU overclockers don't use voltmods...

Yea, I haven't used one (hear they're kinda noisy) but I think I'm going to get two of them to go with my GTs when I buy another one in Jan/Feb... Does anybody know anything about them?

You are gonna buy 2 GT's in feb? Wouldn't it be better to wait 2-3 more weeks and buy the 9800?

Haha GPU overclockers don't use Volt-Mods? What are you talking about? Volt-Modding is one of the most classic overclocking methods and it's used across a range of hardware. It's not like people who overclock their GPU don't overclock their CPU.

This guide may change your mind, it's not too hard and easily reversible.

Also what makes you think the 9800 is coming in a few weeks? NVIDIA has said nothing along those lines.

Nooo, I've already got one GT, I'm going to buy ANOTHER one and two of those cooling solutions to go with them

The Zalman VF-900CU is no slouch either. It goes for about $32 and does a very decent job cooling.

Regarding the AC S1, HardOCP stated today that they will be doing a solo review of the S1 due to popular demand ......

Accelero S1 has blown me away as a bang for buck amazing product.

On stock cooling and speeds my gt would idle at about 48celsius (fan 50%)
and at full load(few hours of cod4) would reach around 80, so to keep it under i would set the fan to 70%, don´t have to tell you how "quiet" that was, on 100% it´s a freakin vacum cleaner.........

And it´s winter, in Croatia winters are cold, but summers are really really hot, so all the temps inside the case raise dramatically, i didn´t want to wait for that to happen........

With accelero + turbo modules ( which are noiseless btw) card idles at 35-38, depending on the room temp, and peaks around 47-48.......after hour and half of crysis bench test, overclocked............... so i think this HS can battle all the air cooling solutions on the market currently, and for less money too.

Also, after instaling the S1, overall temps inside the case droped, NB temp is now 6-7 deegres lower at full load (40 instead 47)

check this 8800GT out! it comes with dual bios and jumpers right on the card so you can access the higher voltage in the other bios if you need to, thats if you want to OC the beast to the extreme. VERY COOL!

Can the S1 be used in an SLI setup? I think I'm going to go with the VF900-CU, as it's small and apparently pretty quiet... Is there anything else anybody can suggest? Or give me some reviews of the VF900, thanks!

Wondering why no one here recommends the TT DuOrb, i installed it on my BFG 8800GT and never reaches more than 50d (ambient temp: 23 +-).
