I installed vista on my raid setup and it was fine for a week or so then it changed the drivers for my backup drive (IDE) while it was on overnight. It said the drive might be corrupt blah blah which is bull**** so checked it in my other pc and its fine. So reinstalled vista and the drive was fine again but its happened again...wtf?!? :bang:

How did you realize it changed the driver?, is it a different version or a different manufacturer?

Just realised its only sometime after installing the new graphics card (8800gts)

Its a 120gb seagate so the disc name is ST3120xxxxx or something like that but its now RTxxxxxxx and is 0gb

Have you tried installing the latest chipset driver before reinstalling Vista?

By the way, what about the service pack 1?, what would you say about it?

Well sp1 made no difference so setup a server and stuck it in that.

sp1 seems no different tbh. everything is running as it was. No more/less stable and same fps in games

Thanks for the info :). How are you doing with the new installation and the HDD driver?
