    Hi,
I wanted to update my bios of my XFx board from P04 to P06 with winflash. They didnt give any other option on their homepage. after the reboot I saw the XFX logo but nothing happened so I pushed the restart button. Now the bios reload defaults and I did winflash another time. This time the PC after 10 seconds of XFX logo shuts off and never on again. Did I just kill my mainboard?
I could test with other RAM and GPU, only CPU I couldnt test.
Jumper and battery doesnt help, clearing the cmos or resetting the bios.

The mainboard has 3 lights a blue 1 a yellow 1 and a green one.
Before only the blue was on when my Mainboard had PSU conection, now also the yellow one is on. PC fan only spins for half a second.

I already posted thsi on xfx forum, but it doesnt seem to be very often used so I asking here for any kind of help.
    Thanks for listening.

p.s. mainboard gets damaged by bios update, does it happen often?

The led codes should be documented in the motherdoard's manual. You may want to check that out.

I searched in the manual but there wasnt any explenation.

I noticed when it was working the blue was always on and green and yellow were on when the PC as on.
Since this has changed Im thinking about a very serious problem

Check the manual for 'troubleshooting'. I know it's no consolation; but, I had a couple of Asus boards die on me that way. :bang:

Have you tried a BIOS recovery yet? I screwed up my old board the same way. :(

Try locating the battery on the board itself, then take it out and leave it out for around 5 minutes or so. This will reset your BIOS to its default first state before the update. It should work. Fixed a friends board after doing that. He had the same problem as you are having.

Try XFX support also. They seemed pretty helpful when I asked them stuff.

What exactly is the problem? Does your monitor pick up any signals at all? Are you saying you can't turn on the system at all? No case power led?

I was in this kind of situation a week ago. What i did was; get the same motherboard and booted to windows. I then removed my bios chip then swapped it with the working one on the already booted motherboard, ran my bios update program under windows and downgraded the bios. Returned the bios chip unto my board and it worked. Mine was currupted bios. You could try this before you buy a new board. I had already given up on the MB when i had this idea.

You are going to need a very trusting friend with an identical board for that procedure.
