I've had this problem before on my old rig, now it's happening on this one. I will get bad fps lag, my fps will go from like 150 right down to 20fps. In my video stress test i get 210 fps at 1152*864,4xaa,8xas,max; but when i play online, the fps will be great at like 150 for one moment then the next itl go down to 30 then i get owned. I suspect it's a network/internet problem as my stresstest runs ok. my rates are 67/67/20000 on a 4mbit line. also, when i shoot or make a sound, i'll hear double, like when i shoot the awp, there will be two sounds quickly, one after another. Need quick help!! got a scrim!! thanks
Turn off AA, you have an 8600 after all... if that doesn't help, then it's probably a network issue. I get that double sound thing when I'm lagging out... so I just kick all my housemates off the router.
my old 6800 ran it great at these settings though. I get this lag on small maps too like iceworld and awpindia. the double sound thing is gone but the fps lag is still there and everything feels a bit laggy. these settings ran great on my old 19" crt, but two days after i started using my new samsung 226bw, things started to lag in CS S. Could it be the monitor drivers or something? it seems more like an internet problem to me.
The double sound is caused when you change settings that may change css in some drastic way like changing AA and settings the directx mode. I get it when i change my settings in game. To correct it you need to restart the game and if that doesn't do it quit the game and steam then reopen
i just started using the netgraph thing in cs s and i can see i'm getting choke. I'll get anywhere from 0-20 choke. It won't be my rates or anything as i checked them. What's causing this choke? Could it be my ISP? Ever since my new quota on the 8/12 was allocated i've had this lag.
