i would actually be shocked if it didnt work in your board,as long as your up to date on your boards bios and you fully remove all your ati software(or format/fresh os install) your probably looking at a flawless victory. gigabyte support is usually on the ball.

Add the Abit AN-M2 (probably the AN-M2HD too) to the list of incompatible mobos.

Sounds good .. i Have a Abit I35 Pro where i can get my 8800 GT working as in i can see the display, and boot into windows, i can do all normal stuff on it, but when i comes to games or gfx benchmarks my 8800 GT does not work, i only get around 5 FPS no matter what.

Exact same setup with a 7800 GTX card ( my old card) gives me ~20 FPS ...

So, could u tell me your exact BIOS setup up, and if you put the 4pin molex power plug into the MOBO, are you using the upper or lower PCIEx16 port, well .. basically, can u tell me excatly how your system is set up ?

Yes, I can tell you how I've got things setup Knuspar, np :).

I would think there is very little difference in our BIOS setups as we are both OC'ing our CPU's highly with water cooling( Congrats on reaching 3.6 on your Q6600 Knuspar :) ). But here goes -

    C1E Function = Disabled
    EIST Function = Disabled
Almost everything else is @ default in BIOS except as it concerns RAID 0 and I have "OnChip Audio"/"IEEE 1394"/"Network Controller2" disabled.

    ATX4P1 ( 4pin molex power plug ) is connected.

    I am using PCIEXP1 ( upper 16 X PCIE slot ) for the 8800GT.

Also my 8800GT is water cooled ( 48C Max load temp ). Driver version I'm using is 169.04. Rivatuner for OC'ing. nHancer for driver settings. nV control panel is disabled through MSConfig. BIOS soft volt Mod also done ( 1.1volts ).

Hope this helps you Knuspar, and good luck :).

    hi,
I was asked by a friend if his ECS P33t-a is compatible to the 8800GT. Since its a very new board there should be no problem right? The board supports PCI-e 1.1. Has anyone tested this board with the 8800GT?

this will probably be an odd one for the bunch; supermicro x7dwa-n dual harpertowns, great for DCC, and a game or two :)
