I've been playing it for a couple of days and i must say the game play is just ok but the fact that it runs slower then most new games coming out leaves alot to be desired. This is the most anticipated game of the year, and so far i am not impressed . Each time i've played the game i was stopped by game crashes. b oth times after 2 hours of play , I suppose we will have to wait for the patches to make this game acceptably playable, and that pesky helicopter won't get off my back...lol. i'm gonna spend more time on gears of war and world in conflict and put crysis on the shelf, what good is a game if its game play cannot be smooth and effortless...

    HI ppl!
I'm new to the NVIDIA! all my cards wase ATI until now! and I'm disappointed!
    mi system wase:
    P4 2.4@2.6GHz 800fsb HT
    1024DDR400 dual
    200gb HDD
    ATI RADEON 9600XT 128mb
on the resolution 1024x768, 2xAA and all settings on low it was running perfectly the demo! 30Fps+
and i thot! that i need a new card! i bough GIGABYTE 7600GS 256MB uninstaled the old ATI drivers! installed original GIGABYTE driver!
it was slide show on the 1024x768 lowest setting without AA!!!!
then i uninstaled GIGABYTE drivers and instalet today new 169.09 drivers! and nothing! still a 20Fps- and cant torn on the AA!
i have it like an option! turning it on! but when i pushing apply its turning off!

I'm still hoping that its something with the drivers! ore with the game!
because if 5years old 9600XT is beater then year old 7600GS! shame on nvidia!
the COD4 and NFS PRO STREET are running perfectli! on the 9600XT and on the 7600GS

I too would like to know this. I also heard that running crysis in xp compatibility mode helps performance. Can anyone confirm this?

If you are having issues with the game that makes me second guess buying it yet. Maybe COD4 is more worth my money for now until patches and drivers come along.

Sadly Oleg the 7600gs is not a good card, though I would have though it would be a little better than a 9600.

If it was better and you still have it go back to the 9600 - but to be honest you going to struggle with the rest of you system with whatever card your have.

the COD4 runing much beter with the 7600GS with AA and midle settings!
and NFS PS! but the CRISYS!
its no dubt that 7600GS is beter than 9600XT but not in all games!
im only hoping that developers will do something with this in the firs pach!

The 7600 is night and day better than the 9600. The 9600 performed worse than the 9500 Pro. The 7600 will demolish those cards.

Does anyone know of any DX9 vs. DX10 performance comparisons? I have found loads of screenshot comparisons but i haven't been able to find any clear performance comparisons using the same settings.

I am right in thinking DX10 should give better performance than DX9 using the same settings? I thought that's what DX10 was all about.

Got it up and running on my rig. All settings very high except shaders, shadows, and post processing which are at high in 1650x1080 res. No AA though and that kinda sucks. Getting ~30fps with those settings and I havent tried to tweak anything yet. Way more than playable at that framerate.

So far, I'm blown away. Beautiful graphics and a fun story. I'm only about 2-3 hours into the game so far but both single player and multiplayer run just fine. Its kicking the crap out of the demo as far as performance is concerned. I may try the new drivers as well but I've seen that they hurt single card rigs more than help.

Edit: Forgot to add that I'm on Vista 32 bit running in DX10.
