no problems here ,despite spanish sound dialogue ,its a very enjoyable game with next-gen feel to it.

 

ahh, dont get me wrong, i know there will be loads out there that wont have problems, i just dont buy anything now without checking out the official forums, and theres more complaints on GoW forum than CoD lol

 

Im happy with the frames in this game, though I myself cant see the BIGGEST difference from the 360 counterpart.

I get avg of round 50 with only dipping lower than 30 a couple times on HIGHEST settings with dx10/AA on @ 1920X1200.

8800 ultra and E6850+2GB ddr21066 ram

 

I have had it with this game..AGAIN. The stupid account I made logs in whrn the game starts...YET AGAIN..I go to play it and NO checkpoints. So once again I wasted my time playing this game. How much of a POS game did they release

 

Used to not be able to finish the first level without a kernel32.dll error.

Did a re-install of the game, and so far smooth sailing

Im with you on that one! After the whole bioshock thing (i still cant even play it, havnt played past the 1st level) i wont buy a game with tons of problems untill a patch.

 

After playing around with the video settings I noticed that enabling DX10 causes mouse lag in the menus, not in the game. The performance of DX10 is worse than DX9 but it almost looks the same. And it appears there is a problem with sound channels, sometimes I can't hear my gun when someone talks.

 

How the heck do you jump in game?

I can't find jump to bind anywhere...

 

You simply can't jump.

 

You can hop over small walls though, providing their not too thick.

This is context sensative though, just like using the cover system when against a wall that looks like it can be jumped over just press forward and space or what ever key you have bound to roadie run or use cover.

Character should then hop over the wall.

There is no "jump" like TF2 for instance.

 

Sorry mate, but its either you or your computer. I've almost finished the campaign with absolutely no crashes, no freezes or save game mess ups. Flawless for me. All that I imagined..

 

Has anyone that has been having crashes come up with a fix? I really want to play this game it simply will not run and I have no clue i have newest drivers, 32bitXP I see no reason for it not to run.

 

Is there a PC demo for Gears of War?

 

Sadly no, but i took the plunge today and picked up a copy at circuit City since they had it for 39.99 and that was low enough for me to purchase.

Hey m8......(i know it sounds stupid but) how does it play on your system? Do you think i might have problem with mine with this game?

 

nope, 2.6ghz duel core and a 7900 GTX is alot of power to run unreal 3 engine. i can run it very fine on a 1.86ghz duel core and a 8800 GTS.

 

Forgot to update my system, I have a new video card, 8800gts and its usually at 50 to 62 average and minimum of 32. This is in vista with 4xAA and 16AF in DX10. Honestly this game seems to run pretty well on most systems with a decent DX 9 card. So as long as you have a decent cpu and newer amd or intel cpu you should be fine. on High and medium settings.

But i do recommend that you sell off that 7900gtx for 100-150 and put down another 150 and buy yourself a 8800 gt and run the game on max with AA and AF. And you will be averaging above 40fps and most of the time in my case 62fps.
