DON'T bother installing these, they are missing the performance enhancements of the 169.04.

I got a massive boost in shader heavy games such as Lost Planet, Colin McCrae Dirt and UT3 based games. This is not something I am willing to give up for a WHQL certificate.

Lets hope they can bring out some 169.04 WHQL drivers without the bugs in Crysis ( not rendering water updates often enough )

maybe that guy is full of bull, but take a look at my system, 320MB on my 8800 and I run EVERYTHING max quality at 1680x1050... In HL2 I get 150-200fps alone.....

169.04 are the best thing since sliced bread. I'm sticking with these for a while or until something beats these. I for one am damn happy nVidia releases tons of drivers. When I was with ATI, driver quality sucked, the Catalyst Control center was total garbage... ATI doesn't even hold a candle to nVidia in any shape or form.

WTF "Nvidia could not locate drives that are compatible with your hardware" error on install after uninstall and driver cleaner. Hmm never had a problem before.

Anyone else with a 8800GT have a problem?

edit: doesn't seem to have 8800GT listed when I manually try and install

If you read the products supported on the nvidia driver page you will find no mention of any 8800gt, though an ini edit might do the trick but I would not recommend it for drivers based before the 8800gt release.:p

I have terrible performance with these in Crysis. 169.01 and 04 have much better performance. For an example in the crysis gpu bench, I had maximum fps like 50 in test 2 and with .01´s I had 64fps. So these are not great with Crysis!

    My upgrade procedure:

    -uninstall latest WHQL
    -Reboot
-Install 163.75, screen goes black (usually does doe 2 - 3 secs), but it didn't return, speaker beeps every minute. I had to reset the whole machine.
-Vista boots, aparently drivers were installed (checked in nvidia CP for driver version). But since install was doudbfull, i uninstalled to try again.
    -Reboot
-I try to install again but now I get the error in the installer: Drivers are designed for Windows Vista 32b but you are not running Windows Vista 32b.

I am running vista 32bits and the drivers were previously installed (well kinda) so something else is wrong.

I had to reinstall the old HWQL (163.69), i did it with no problems.

My card is a Gigabyte 8800GTS 320MB, running vista 32b

I hope they take down this drivers from their site, they are messed up...

I remember this happening to me months ago with some other driver version, but unfortunatly I cant remember what the problem was caused by, and how to fix it.

Try cleaning with Guru3d sweeper after un-install, and once more after reboot. And then install again, try if that helps.

Be my guest. The XP driver is exactly the same tho, down to the bit w/ the exception of the INF file (7100 added plus some minor changes).

Tested SLi in CSS:Source and FSX and the dreaded 'driver does not respond' error ocurred - as I expected. :(

I guess one day my extra card will come in use under Vista 64bit, but I have no idea when that miracle will take place...
