Good Job Alex... hope you share more about the 8800GT tweaks and hidden technology if it exists.

Personally, I am avoiding the hype about this card. I just don't see how it quite Roxors!111 my 8800GTS. :) (Did I spell that right?)

I'd like to see full diagnostic report including GPU registers dump.

OC clocks both my gpu's but fan control only affects one of them.. Ive never had a standard SLI setup so not sure if its a 7950gx2 thing or a SLI thing.. anyone with a standard SLI setup getting RT to control both fans?

Quite simple, it addresses 100% more textures per cycle, it has an optimized ROP architecture, an updated shader processor version and 16 more shader processors, therefore being able to deliver far more performance than whatever you can squeeze out of old-tech GTS. It is actually on to the GTX, although cannot quite reach it. Overclocking helps that too.

New GTS models will appear soon with the same shader processor amount (112) but basically little change, except keeping their (unsignificant) memory bandwidth advantage.

Thanks again for giving us this useful free tool!

Aparently I have a problem. Using the official beta 169.04 with this version on RivaTuner cause my GPU fan speed to return to 15% right after I enter a game (3d application).
So basicly I set it to 100% (changing also the 2d setting, I know), I can hear the fan rotating MUCH faster, and as soon as I start a game the fan stops making that fast rotating noise and the fan speed setting in RivaTuner is back to 25%. Both in 2d and 3d.

    Um. Am I missing something?

    7950GT 512 PCI-E

    Thanks!

$0000000003 Location : bus 0, device 0, function 0 is a root of problem, display adapter's PCIE slot seem to be detected improperly due to some odd reason. If you wish to probe it deeper - provide me your email address via PM and I'll send you logged build of RT allowing to diagnpose the problem deeper.

RivaTuner needs elevated privileges when it starts up, due to a number of reasons, in Vista (applications may not touch low-level hardware areas without the user consenting), and therefore it can never start up without user permission. You need to give your explicit permission every time you boot your computer for such applications.

Can i ask another question whitout developer consider me a moron?

I see in the first post that now G80 can use driver-level fan control instead low-level.
    What are reccomanded to use?
If i set driver-leve fan control on "Auto", fan duty cicle are increase if core temperature increase?
I ask this because i see duty cicle firm at 60% while temperature increasing(from 60 to 70°C), it's normal?

Last thing...i see in windows defender startup programs an entry of rivatuner whit /S arguments, but i have unset all startup setting of RT, what this /S means?

edit:i have already search in this forum whit key "fan control driver-level"

something is wrong when i try to OC my card with this rivatuner and 169.04´s

when OC, in the graph that show core mhz mhz wont go up... but if i watch nvidia control panel monitor it show the OC.

the thing is that the OC dont apply... cause benchmarks give me the axact same score that if no OC is apply.

PD: sorry, as you can see im not speak english, so please try to understand me :)
