From the initial reviews I've read no one knows for sure if G92 has 128sp (a few claim 160), nor has nvidia confirmed it. It does make sense since the 8800gt has seven unified processors, so it's only natural that there must be an 8th.

I assume that rivatuner can detect this. So you must know for sure.

Still not that much is there something I am missing

Unwinder, with all due respect, I just figured that the jump should be higher with that much of an overclock. Back in the day if you overclocked a card that much or obviously less due to tech constrains, mostly die size. You usually saw a much large jump in frames rendered.

Probably your CPU is holding you back, even at 4ghz your Pentium D can't stand a chance against an Athlon64 much less a C2D at 3 ghz

Once again, what do you mean by large jump in frames rendered? Don't mess absolute framerates with relative performance increase.
+3 FPS from initial 300FPS is nothing, but +3 FPS from 30 FPS is more than large jump.

    That sucks

I just would think that GPU would be bottlenecked by the CPU like that. I will have to wait a while to upgrade my processor and main board though.

Thanks Unwinder, now my 8800GTS ain't slacking off under 169.04.

    And a bit of report:
    - things works fine under Win XP 32 bit SP2 / 169.04, initially has a bit of problem after install and I delete the previous versions' folders, but all sorted out after uninstall & reinstall the 2.06
    - RivaTuner 2.06 took over the settings from previous versions, including overclocking, just fine. My card seems won't clock higher then 650MHz on core (but memory would move beyond 1050MHz) and shader clock is linked.Yes the system accepts my overclock by the monitoring indicate the core stays @ 648MHz max. Wondering if that's the limit of my card.

And like I said before: I only trust RivaTuner. Unwinder, please accept my vote of confidence to you.

Well here are the numbers and I think you are rights that the cpu is bottle enck the GPU. This suck I thought I wouldn't have to upgrade the rest of the system just yet.

    3DMark Score 8033 3DMarks
    SM 2.0 Score 3601 Marks
    SM 3.0 Score 4038 Marks
    CPU Score 1691 Marks

    Hi,

iam using an ATI 2600XT. Rivatuner and over/underclocking works really fine. CCC also clocks to 110MHz in idle mode. Rivatuner only supports frequencies down 400MHz. Isnt it possible to underclock just below 400 MHz? Asking this since i want to get temps more down.

DPM (Dynamic Power Management) technology, which is responsible for throttling the clocks down depending on GPU usage level is forcibly disabled when you overclock any RV6xx display adapter via AMDGPUClockTool or via RivaTuner. That's a specific of ATI's PowerPlay clock programming interface and you cannot do anything to bypass this specifics. The only way to keep DPM active is to use CCC's overclocking interfaces, but they have pretty limited allowed clock increase range.

    rivatuner 2.06 and ati 2900xt 1gb

    hi!

rivatuner 2.06 does not recognize the amount of video ram on my card, it shows 0, or 88 mb. the core and memory clocks are wrong too, here is the output from graphics subsystem diag:

    $0900000000 Graphics core : R600 (16tmu)
    $0900000002 Memory bus : 512-bit
    $0900000001 Memory type : DDR4 SGRAM
    $0900000003 Memory amount : 0MB
    $0900000004 Core clock : 440653.521MHz
    $0900000005 Memory clock : 72585.003MHz (145170.007MHz effective)
    $0900000006 Reference clock : 27.000MHz
what is wrong, can you please help?

Thx for the 206 version, I just registered but have been reading the forums for years. I never had any problems using rivatuner but since a couple of months it wont detect my GPU clock or memory clock. I got an 8800 gts 640mb and got the 163.69 drivers installed. However I still appreciate your work a lot. I only wish I could get it to work....

Thanks! Can't wait to install it later on tonight. Just brought home Hellgate. RT makes my games more enjoyable and is very much appreciated.
